Josh Allen is an American athlete playing for the Buffalo Bills as a starting quarterback in the National Football League. He is considered one of the most competitive quarterbacks currently playing in the league. During his career, Allen has set an NFL record and earned many accolades for his performance on the field. Allen joined the Bills after being selected during the 2018 NFL Draft as a seventh overall pick for the franchise. He started his rookie season as a backup quarterback to the Bills starter Nathan Peterman.

However, by the second game in the 2018 season, Allen became the starting quarterback after Peterman was benched. Although he was competitive during his first two seasons with the Bills, his performance mostly went unnoticed until the 2020 season when the franchise to their first playoff victory in 25 years. The 2020 season was also the year the Bills won a division title since 1995.

Before joining the NFL, Allen had a successful career in college football, where he played for Reedly College in 2014 before transferring to the football program for the University of Wyoming in 2015. By the end of his final year at Wyoming, Allen had thrown 1,812 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions in the 2017 season. In 2020, Allen set records for the Bill in both single-season pass yards and touchdowns.

Moreover, he won the Pro Bowl award as well as second-team All-Pro honors. The following year, Allen again brought the Bills to a consecutive division title for the first time in 40 years. Despite only having a few years in the NFL, Allen has more than 17,000 pass yards and nearly 3,000 rushing yards while maintaining a completion percentage of 62.6%. Allen also earned an NFL record during the 2021 season for the highest passer rating in a single postseason.
