Green Bay Packers: What to know about the NFL team
The Green Bay Packers are a professional football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. They are part of the NFC North division in the NFL, along with the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings. The Packers have a long history in the NFL as one of the oldest franchises in the league, established in 1919, making them the third-oldest franchise in the NFL.
The Packers were the champions of the first and second Super Bowls, played in 1967 and 1968, under the leadership of coach Vince Lombardi. The Super Bowl trophy, now called the Lombardi Trophy, was named in his honor. The Green Bay Packers have won the Super Bowl a total of four times since their establishment as an NFL team.
The Packers play their home games at Lambeau Field and are coached by Matt LaFleur. They are the only professional sports team in the United States that is community-owned.
