Ancient mastodon tooth found in California creek may point to more remains buried

Wayne Thompson, CEO of Pacific Paleontology, told Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Digital that the exceptionally rare Pacific mastodon tooth discovered in a California creek could be between 50,000 and 100,000 years old.

Pacific Paleontology CEO Wayne Thompson told Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Digital that the mastodon molar’s remarkably intact roots suggest it had not traveled far — and that the animal’s skull and other bones may still be buried at the site.
