The Drug Enforcement Administration is heading a nationwide effort targeting Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG). In Atlanta, agents seized over 1,000 pounds of meth and arrested five illegal immigrants on drug charges. The agency says the cartel has risen to power since 2023 after the arrest of two high-ranking members of the rival Sinaloa Cartel. "We want to make sure our efforts were focused on making sure they don't get too strong," Rob Murphy, Special Agent in Charge of the Atlanta Field Division, said. The DEA gives FOX exclusive access to the lab where many of these drugs are tested. Agents say the new lab in Atlanta allows them to streamline their investigations as agents continue to fight the cartel's operations.
