I'm on the road this morning, bringing Sunday Screencaps to you from the aftermath of a family wedding. They obviously didn't get the memo here about Memorial Day Weekend being unofficial start of summer.

It's cool this morning and it's not even supposed to get into the 80s today. But you know who did receive the memo? Elizabeth Hurley. She's always ready for summer, and at 60, she's still locked in.

On Saturday, the longtime proponent of summer and bikini season rolled out the welcome mat for one of the OutKick Culture Department's favorite times of the year. She had content ready to go and she delivered.

That's not surprising. She is a professional. Hurley was outside, she looked to be near a pool, and she was in full promotional mode. It's what we've come to expect from the actress/model, especially this time of year.

I just finished reading screencaps for Thursday May 21st and Mike T's contribution. He stated that "We don't have any collegiate summer baseball in San Diego, maybe not even So-Cal." That couldn't be further from the truth..My son played for the San Diego Waves for 2 fantastic summers during his college baseball career. The Waves are a team who play in the Western Baseball Association and in 2025 completed its 25th year of existence..The Waves routinely compete in the WBC World Series which is a 32 team tournament that gets teams from all over the country. This Tournament has been held annually since 1935 and is held in Wichita Kansas....If you are a true baseball fan this tournament should be on your bucket list.

Loved Trotter's (oops, I mean Jim T in SD) pic from PLNU. I used to ride my bike over to that campus all the time as a kid. One time I climbed along the very steep hill outside the left field fence and picked up about two dozen homer balls. If you look in the background behind the second palm tree from the right, you see three palm trees in the distance (actually four, one is blocked by the foreground tree) is right in front of the spot on the cliffs where my wife and I got remarried on our 24th anniversary, almost 13 years ago.

Great job subbing in for Joe. You obviously read his dailies to keep up with the arc.

For anyone wondering what Jack is talking about, I made a joke about Selena Gomez reportedly joining an A-list cast in a four-hour X-rated movie. A genre-defying work of art, according to the director.

I wrote, "Don't let reports that Selena Gomez is going to be starring in an X-rated movie fool you. This isn’t going to be a poorly produced amateur-level movie thrown together with someone who doesn’t know what they're doing."

"It's also not a sex tape, for the folks who can't get their act together. Congratulations if you let your mind go there, you're an animal."

Baseball and meat

Went down to see Point Loma Nazarene University host game 2 of the NCAA Div. II baseball super regionals against Northwest Nazarene, from Idaho. PLNU ended up sweeping Northwest Nazarene, and for the third time in six years is off to Cary, N.C. for the Div. II College World Series. And as the photo shows, it was a tourism bureau kind of day - just perfect weather for a baseball game at America's most scenic ballpark.

The other photo is of the Sabor Catering (not sponsored!) popup grill, where our man was serving up quarter pound burgers and dogs all game. Even though I ended up wearing part of the burger on my shirt it was well worth it!

Meanwhile, my buddy S.P. was following progress of San Diego State's game in Mesa, Ariz., in the Mountain West conference tourney on his phone. Our Aztecs also ended up prevailing late over New Mexico - fingers crossed that by the time this runs on Sunday, the Aztecs are 2-0 and in the tournament final!

And up in what we call North County here in America's Finest City, Cal State San Marcos - ranked #3 in the U.s. in Div. II women's softball - came back from a stunning first game blowout loss to Biola to sweep a DH today and are off to Chattanooga for the Div. II Softball World Series!

And downtown on the harborfront, the Padres are chasing the A's.

For those keeping score at home, that's four world-class ballparks in San Diego: Petco, still one of the gems among Major League stadiums; Tony Gwynn Stadium on the campus of SDSU; Fowler Park at the University of San Diego (which had an uncharacteristic off year this season); and Carroll B. Land Field at Pt Loma - where you can watch surfers and sailboats between innings without ever leaving your seat.

San Diego may be one of the great diamond capitals of our great nation!

Monday, I'll be with the Cub Scout Pack that my Kiwanis Club sponsors at a local cemetery honoring our fallen heroes. What a great start to the summer!

Sydney Thomas dominates the red carpet in Cannes as her star continues to rise, new MLB power couple & MEAT!

It's rainy, windy, nasty and a complete washout out my window this morning, which means it's a perfect Saturday morning to dump out a fresh, new edition of Saturday Screencaps. You're damn right, I'm counting my blessings for not forcing assistant Screencaps editor SeanJo to work this weekend.

I had a half-day off work Friday so I could play golf with the text group and the wind blew sustained at 20 mph and gusted to 25–30 at times. By the end of the day, all I could think about was just getting inside a structure with four walls. But, at least we were able to golf and I didn't play too badly.

In brighter news, how about this performance turned in by American Sydney Thomas on Friday in Cannes, France? We are witnessing a star in the making. Just last week, I wrote about how the University of Alabama grad was doing celebrity poker and trying to find her footing in the pop culture world.

Uh, I think she's found her footing. This is what American dominance looks like. Biological females doing biological female things in Europe, just reminding the mouthy Europeans that we haven't lost a step even after the Alphabet Mafia tried to destroy American exceptionalism during the Biden years.

My dad passed away eight years ago at 66 years of age. I was 36 I may have been 10yrs old. Myself and 3 brothers were devastated, We had lost our hero. Kinsey: While golfing Thursday, I was riding with my buddy Diesel, who turned on the new Keith Urban Yacht Rock songs and I was not pleased in the least. Did we need Urban to cover Yacht Rock songs? Absolutely not. Is this a case of stolen valor? 100%. These country dorks can't stick to their own industry. They ripped off "Fast Cars" from Tracy Chapman and now Urban's stealing "Summer Breeze" from Seals and Croft.

That is it this Saturday morning with the rain pounding the east-facing windows. It's one of those weather weekends we won't soon forget. But, life goes on. It might feel like October, but we have to figure out a way to make the best of it.

That means some retail therapy. I'm going to go out and buy a KombiSystem from Stihl that my dad has sold me on. I'm starting with the edger and the pole saw. That should just about complete my needs with my yard tools. I have the Stihl trimmer and hedge trimmer. Outside of adding a battery Stihl mower, I think this should be it.

Tara Reid has people talking after her latest red carpet appearance, parents fight at Toledo school & MEAT

Welcome to the official summer kickoff edition of Screencaps where many of us put in a half-day and then, BOOM, summer officially starts as you tee off No. 1 at your favorite local golf course, but before we do that, we have to check in with Tara Reid of "American Pie" fame.

Did you see the 50-year-old Reid on the red carpet in Cannes this week? "I wish her well," one fan wrote on Instagram after getting a look at red carpet video footage from a Cannes Film Festival event. Look, it's no secret that Tara has turned heads over her appearance for years.

Women have been concerned for the film legend and this week they cranked up that concern to a new level. "Please fire her stylist," another woman wrote. You get the point, if you were losing sleep over Reid before this week, you probably won't sleep well over Memorial Day weekend.

• Moving along to my golf game...my day of decompression on Thursday went pretty well. I hadn't hit a golf ball in two months after being on the disabled list with a shoulder issue. Instead of easing back in by playing some flat local course, the group decided to play Monroe (MI) Country Club, which was designed by Donald Ross in 1919. I swear on my golf Bible that you might never see a green like No. 7 on that course.

It's like a ski slope with a pin at the front of the green with pin high as the only slight area to stop a ball from sliding off the front. I get that Augusta National has slope and I've stood near Nos. 9 and 18 at Augusta. Yes, it's a ski slope. I honestly thought No. 7 at Monroe should be illegal.

If there was any lack of decompression, it came on that hole. On in 3 and three-putted. But, I'm back to playing golf and it feels great. In fact, right after I hit publish on this one, we're going to play the oldest municipal golf course west of Manhattan.

• In baseball news, Screencaps the III got his very first legitimate hit of the season by lacing one over the second baseman's head last night with winds whipping 20-25 mph off Lake Erie. I'm talking windchills in the mid-40s. Absolutely miserable weather. Guys, I'm begging for heat at this point. Screencaps the III eventually came around to score his team's first run. That's the production you want to see out of the No. 2 hole.

• This weekend, we will remember the soldiers that were stationed just down the road from where we live who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country during the War of 1812 in the name of defeating the British scumbags and their Native American partners who attacked from the north side of the Maumee River. During one particular battle called Dudley's Massacre, approximately 161 Americans were killed. Fort Meigs, the historic site that sits to the west of downtown Perrysburg, is considered a sacred burial ground where some remains were turned into bunkers, according to historians.

The local hipsters have been pushing a saying over the last decade or so that rings so true this morning: "You will do better in Toledo." It's on signs all over the city. The wokes put it on shirts and wear them proudly. As a content guy who has made a career on content, these woke Toledoans couldn't be more right. Toledo has been very, very good to me.

I think back to things like the legendary Golden Corral Mother's Day brawl and just smile. Those are proud content moments for the Rust Belt city up the road. Parents will hand down these stories for generations. Mom, tell me the story of that time you fought other moms at my kindergarten graduation.

On the death of Kyle Busch

Despite what you may have read or heard about Kyle Busch, my interactions with the guy over the past 15 years have been nothing but great. Kyle and Samantha Busch were the best to interview. My buddy Paul and I interviewed both of them multiple times over the years and they couldn't have been better to deal with.

Kyle was one of us. For years, I would see Kyle and Samantha at Leather and Lace Super Bowl parties. Before kids, those two were leaders on the party scene. Just fun people. If a brand asked Paul and I to interview Kyle, it was a done deal.

That's Paul (far right) and I with Kyle before the start of the 2019 race at Kentucky. Our buddy at the time was running marketing for M&M's NASCAR program and asked us to come in for the weekend for a full run-of-the-house experience where they had us sleep in tents on the infield and hang with Kyle.

We lost one of the good guys on Thursday.

The blood starts pumping when I open my Gmail and there's Vern in the Pacific Northwest checking in. I've written multiple times about how Vern is the very best of us. His resume is 200 pages long. Decorated. Very decorated. Inspirational. Vern is a leader of men. He's been that way his whole life, and I feel, just with very simple emails, that he's still doing that as he nears 88 years old.

Welcome to Thursday's Screencaps. For those of you who missed it, Joe is off today. He's been mentioning it all week, but yesterday in particular, he announced that today is a decompress day for him.

He's golfing and won't be looking at social media at all today. It's a day he's had circled on the calendar and been looking forward to for a while now. He's back on for Screencaps on Friday and Saturday morning, but has more decompression scheduled for both days.

I'm getting this relief appearance started with Sydney Thomas, who followed up a head-turning celebrity poker appearance by attending the Academy of Country Music Awards last weekend.

Hand up, I didn’t know they were going on, but that's alright. I don't need to know who won what award for what song or anything like that. Tell me who stuffed themselves into a dress and appeared on the red carpet.

That's what I want to know. I'm here for the content and it hit social media on Wednesday when Sydney and others who attended received the go ahead to post their ACM Awards content.

Joe said it when Sydney found herself turning heads at the poker event. She needs to get out there and stay busy. Popping up on the red carpet at an awards show is perfect.

Will we see her throwing out the first pitch at a Cubs game? Time will tell.

Let's get the rest of this Thursday rolling. I'm happy to report we have meat, support for meat, and a sunset as we gear up for the unofficial start to summer this weekend.

Meat and baseball

First off, forget about Eric! He's got issues we can't possibly dissect in the limited space available in SC each day! Keep posting meat pictures! Sometimes it's the motivation I need to get off my butt and fire up the grill. (Once the gas grill died, I went back to a Weber - but there's work involved in getting that bad boy going compared to a gas job, particularly as my wife hates when I use lighter fluid and I struggle with that stupid charcoal chimney starter she got me.) So thanks for that!

In fact, now I feel a bit guilty that I didn't get shots of the caterer's grill that was selling burgers and quarter-pound dogs at last week's PLNU regionals! My Costco-sized dog (probably, in fact, a Costco dog) was buried by the cook with grilled diced tomatoes and onions, and then a nice pickle relish. I was thinking I'd need a knife and fork, but the buns they sourced were perfectly sized and held together.

The attached photo shows the visitor's bullpen at the PLNU ballfield - you can see the catcher in the far-left corner just outside the right-field foul line. And behind him? Surfers enjoying a sunny Friday afternoon. Gotta be the only college or pro ballpark in the country where the visiting pitcher can see surfers while warming up.

PLNU won the regional in a three-game nail-biter against Cal State San Bernardino, and will have hosted the Div. II Western Super Regional by the time your next Sunday SC runs. Fingers crossed!

But while chatting with the CSSB players who were sitting in the stands with the radar gun and tablet for coach, I was reminded of another great baseball opportunity in many parts of the country: Summer wood-bat leagues! Three of the Yotes (short for Coyotes, the team name) are off to a summer wood bat league in Port Angeles, Washington this summer. When I was back home in Dayton two summers ago, my buds and I took in a summer wood-bat game in Springfield. Basically summer college all-star games. We don't have any in San Diego - maybe not even SoCal - but for your readers who have a summer wood-bat league, I highly encourage them to check one out! A lot of the minor league stadiums that lost their team due to reigning idiot Rob Manfried have pivoted to a summer wood bat league to help fill the void. And if your former minor league team was affiliated with the Pirates, you may even see an improved level of play now!

You or Joe ever get out San Diego way, try to schedule it for the spring - and check in advance that PLNU will be at home. We'll get you out there.

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who wish Paige Spirinac would just go away. The only thing she has going for her is a big butt, big boobs and a big mouth. That's it. She only has followers because of those things. She couldn't make it in women's pro golf. So, all of a sudden, she turned into a commentator and influencer. BFD!

Then, she gets into a tournament and cheats! Then she breaks out the crocodile tears and goes into fake hiding.

She's sexualized golf. No one respects that. She resorted to that tact because otherwise, she wouldn't get any attention. Sad! We don't need that!

No one who is a serious golf fan or golfer respects her. We all wish people in media would ignore her. There are more important things to report about than her hot swing! Again, sad!

This is why I don't have many serious golf fans as friends. It's not such much the golf part as it is the serious part. I've heard this argument before. Not the "there are more important things to report about" one, that's simply factually inaccurate.

I've heard that no serious golf fan or golfer is a fan of Paige. I find that hard to believe. Let me know if you're one of the serious golf fans or golfers, who doesn’t have a putter up their backside, and enjoys her work. I know they're out there.

Paige Spiranac continues her generational golf content influencing run in 2026, Mike Alstott is ripped & MEAT!

Welcome in for Wednesday Screencaps where we observe Paige Spiranac keeping her word and going on a generational content run in 2026 after promising she would get back to her roots. She has done just that. There was the content on Mother's Day that absolutely mesmerized men, and women, around the world.

For the Paigeviews fans out there, you know that she had a very quiet 2025 on IG. It's hard to make money on IG. That's not a secret. So, like the entrepreneur she is, Paige dabbled in a few alternative sites. It's unclear if those ventures were a success. What's crystal clear is that Paige IS BACK on the mainstream sites.

She's now dumped out eight pieces of content on IG this year and at least 5X that amount on Twitter. In 2022, at 29 years old, Paigeviews was having second thoughts about her golf influencing career. She talked about pivoting her content to strictly fitness content and healthy eating. That didn't last long. Now here we are four years later with Paige in her early-to-mid-30s and she's still on top of the game.

She deserves massive credit for keeping the Internet's attention for this long. She's truly an Internet hall of famer.

Kinsey: I have made my position known on this going back quite a few years. I have called on Wendy's to create positive buzz for the brand by opening at least ONE Superbar. Just ONE. I have no idea if Wendy's has a marketing department, but this is the easiest win in the history of marketing.

Price the Superbar experience at $14.99. You'll have every gas worker, plumber, electrician and roofer from an 80-mile radius piling in. You'll have office workers looking for a fresh salad. I beat my head against the wall trying to figure out what is stopping Wendy's. It just doesn't make sense.

You guys know Danica's been in the gym. She lives the MAHA lifestyle. We show you guys her insane gym workouts.

I knew Danica, 44, has been getting shredded, but what she unleashed Monday from the Fox set was the results of the offseason reps where Danica gets on a dip machine with 45-pound plates chained to a weight belt.

• Moving along this morning, full disclosure, I watched approximately 15 minutes of the NBA's Western Conference Finals after watching Game 7 of Montreal-Buffalo. I have no idea how any of you can truly stand watching the NBA product. During the 15 minutes that I watched, I saw maybe two minutes of actual game time.

How many timeouts do these coaches get? I swear they had like 10 timeouts per team to burn after every single basket. Even after free throws...TIMEOUT! It was completely worthless television. It was worse than college and that's saying something.

My old buddy Kunkel is right.

• Yes, I watched MY Reds blow another late-inning lead. I'm not in a great spot with MY Reds right now. The bullpen was a disaster waiting to happen and it happened way before Memorial Day, which isn't a great sign when the season goes until Sept. 27. I talked to my dad this morning who is forecasting this team could lose 100 games. I think that's an overreaction, but I will mark today and take a look back in August.

• Wait, shopping malls are coming back? That's news to me. I've been in just ONE mall that's thriving – Somerset in Troy, Michigan – in the last five to 10 years.

Kinsey: Welcome to the best daily column in the United States, as named by the readers, Annette. You might not like every edition of Screencaps, but I guarantee this column will not be boring. You'll find little nuggets like that one that just pop into my head. This isn't meant to be a traditional news column. I'm not here to impress you with big words. I'm here to inform, entertain and make you think on a daily basis.

Speaking of which, wait until you guys see the comments I got on the U-Haul nugget from Monday Screencaps.

How many bridesmaids are too many bridesmaids?

– Retired reporter Beth emails:

The rule of thumb is one bridesmaid for every 50 invited guests. The maid/matron of honor do not count in this equation. Nor do flower girls. Ideally, there will be an equal number of groomsmen, again not counting the best man. Some weddings include ushers as well as groomsmen, which I find a terrible waste of time and money for a tuxedo used just to schlep guests to their seats.I believe the 1:50 ratio came about to (subtly) discourage brides from asking literally every friend since preschool to stand for her.

Bridesmaids should be your closest and dearest friends, sisters and maybe your kidney donor. I’ve attended weddings that featured more bridal party members than guests. This is the bride who, "Doesn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings." For the same reason, these events typically go on for three hours as they slog through Bible readings, poetry recitations, solos, performances by a brass ensemble and string quartet, candle lightings, mother tributes, rose presentations, Holy Communion and snake handling.

As always in the perfect elegant event, less is more. Now to your original query about Miss Hunt’s 14 bridesmaids. 14x50=700 invited guests, which is extreme but not terribly tacky. There’s a fine line between society weddings and the nuptials that begin by calling all the cousins out from under the trailer with the broken skirting because, "The preacher done got here." Another rule of thumb: the more people you invite, the bigger the risk of drowning in blenders, toasters and bath towels.

This is where the all important Bridal Registry comes into play. It is a sacred document that must be fulfilled. I don’t know what today’s brides do. In my day, brides, towing their surly grooms, spent an afternoon at our town’s most elegant department store, Leitzinger’s, choosing our desired gifts. All while an advisor followed us making suggestions and taking notes.

Then came the best part: a small table was set with our china, silver and stemware, matching linens and an information card featuring the exquisitely gorgeous calligraphy of Judy Helsel. That year, there were four brides in our newsroom. We went to Leitzinger’s every chance we got to stand and stare at our tables. We followed the national average, I’m sad to say. Only two of us are still married nearly 40 years later. I hope your adorable male mind can glean a few salient insights from my ramblings. I do enjoy sharing them with you. If ever again you need etiquette advice, I’m here.

And if you are invited to the Hunt-Green circus, send them a note explaining you planted a tree or named a star after them or donated a month’s operating budget to an animal shelter or soup kitchen. That’ll really piss ‘em off and they’ll never get the irony.

I just want all of you to know I see your emails and messages. There are just so many to go through that I cannot possibly respond to all of you, including the legacy readers who are hammering my personal Gmail.

This morning, The TODAY Show got in on the fun by doing its own Pizza Hut story recapping that the Hut is viral right now. Look, I'll say it again: America could use a family spot where we can go after games to get a pizza. The Hut leaning into being the go-to place after travel ball, or soccer, or some other sport, is an admirable marketing campaign.

Now bring back the pitchers of draft beer for the dads.

The current state of Yacht Rock

– Chris A. tells me: Sirius does right by yacht rock. In addition to Channel 15, it has some internet only channels like Yacht Rock deep cuts, Yacht Country and Yacht Soul (I have Al Green and Marvin Gaye on my yacht rock playlist, so Yacht Soul sounds good to me). Spotify also has a yacht rock channel that throws in some mellow EDM, but I would need some convincing on that one.

I chuckled at the video of the zero-turn mower getting plucked from the pond. I would have left it in there if it was up to me. Give me a good old lawn tractor with an actual steering wheel!

Kinsey: I was a little surprised that Bo in AZ sorta attacked me and accused me of not listening to Yacht Rock in May. You're damn right I was insulted. Just for that, I'm golfing this week and listening to Yacht Rock the entire time. I WILL NOT be out-Yacht rocked.

NFL Accelerator Program once focused on DEI returns and more than half of the participants are White

The story about the NFL's Accelerator Program, which kicks off Monday to introduce up-and-coming coaches and front-office people to club owners with the hope it increases their future hiring opportunities, should be different.

It should be that two former quarterbacks — Josh McCown and Mike Kafka — are in the program hoping to become head coaches.

It should be that Catherine Hickman, a female and a Canadian, is in the program as she eyes an NFL general manager job.

It should be that former head or interim head coaches — Mike McDaniel, Kafka, Darren Rizzi, David Shaw and Jeff Ulbrich — are trying to become NFL head coaches again.

The story could even be that family ties are still in play for the league because Mike Bradway's father is longtime NFL executive Terry Bradway's son, Adam Berry is the twin brother of Browns general manager Andrew Berry, and John McKay's father is longtime NFL executive Rich McKay, who is former Buccaneers and USC coach John McKay's son.

NFL'S ROGER GOODELL DEFENDS LEAGUE'S DEI POLICIES, SEES THE BENEFITS

All this is notable about the Accelerator Program, except that the story that glows in neon about the program now is instead about race. Black or White.

The NFL made it about race in 2022 when it established the Accelerator Program in order to "build a stronger pipeline of talent to the league’s most senior coaching and front office positions by providing leadership development and opportunities for networking directly with club owners."

The program put potential coaches, general managers and team presidents in meeting settings with owners in order to put them on track to be hired. Except the NFL limited those meeting opportunities to Black people. And women. And other minorities.

But not white men.

That became problematic for the league last year and the program was "paused," per the NFL. This year, the program is back.

FLORIDA ATTORNEY GENERAL SUBPOENAS NFL AS PART OF NEW PROBE INTO ROONEY RULE AND OTHER DEI PROGRAMS

But now it includes White men and, well, anyone sent to the program by individual clubs regardless of race.

This year, there are 34 NFL coaches and front office people in the Accelerator Program and they will be meeting with owners in Orlando in the next couple of days.

And 18 of the participants are White, 14 are Black, and two are biracial.

The NFL initially believed the Accelerator Program, which was part of its diversity, equity and inclusion push, was going to even the proverbial playing field for minority job candidates. It mostly did not, as only one head coach (Aaron Glenn) and two general managers (Ran Carthon and Ian Cunningham) were hired after participating.

The problem with the NFL's initial reach for equity and inclusion is it was neither equitable nor inclusive for White people people.

That has changed this year. So, perhaps the stories coming out of the program in the future won't be about race.

Let's get Monday Screencaps rolling by me saying thank you to the dozens and dozens of you who tagged me, or emailed, the video floating around of the Pizza Hut guy who is trying to bring back Pizza Hut Classics as the norm for the brand.

Look, I'm not going to say Screencaps is why CBS News did that segment. What I will take credit for is being very early on the Pizza Hut Classic train. It feels like we were talking about the Classics back in 2022. Then, last year, my family had its first Classic experience in Charlevoix, Michigan. We were not disappointed.

This column is all about looking at the absurdities of the times we live in and asking how we can make things better. I'm not talking about halting the evolution of the world we live in. I'm asking for meth addicts to be eliminated from Wendy's. That's not a big ask. I'm asking for Pizza Huts to be fun atmospheres where Book-it kids can go get a personal pizza and eat under a Tiffany lamp. I'm asking for Pizza Hut to bring back a jukebox or some other way to play music.

I'm asking for some sanity in this world that we live in. I'm asking for Bud Light to bring back the Bud poster models and the Bud Bowl. These are small asks.

CHIEFS HEIRESS GRACIE HUNT & HER FIANCÉ ENGAGE IN RATHER INTERESTING MAHA WORKOUT, AAU PRICE REACTIONS & MEAT

• We have to address Gracie Hunt's big content weekend where the Chiefs heiress announced she has signed 14 BRIDESMAIDS TO HER WEDDING PARTY. That is not a misprint. 14!!!!! I get it, her dad is a billionaire and her family has f-you money in perpetuity thanks to Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. I'm just wondering how many bridesmaids are too many bridesmaids.

MLB teams are limited to 13 pitchers on their rosters. Gracie Hunt and her fiancé, Trent Green's son, are going to have a wedding party bigger than an entire active MLB roster.

Ladies, tell me more about this bridesmaid world. If you're rich, do you feel obligated to have more bridesmaids?

• Moving along to another topic on my mind this weekend: Why doesn't U-Haul require its rental trucks to be filled up upon returning the truck? Is there some sort of algorithm at play here where if the truck is on half-full, someone will overfill the truck and U-Haul will get some sort of financial advantage?

It feels like some suit ran the algorithmic numbers and figured out a way to take advantage of the customer. I was commissioned by my in-laws to move a bunch of furniture to their new house and there I was filling up a 20-footer last night sitting in the cab as the pump was running. I was laser focused on not giving U-Haul a single drop over half-full. All I could think about was some U-Haul suit laughing at me for being stressed out.

Did I watch the Netflix MMA event on Saturday night? Not all of it. I did tune in for the three main event fights and I'll get to that in a minute. I was more impressed with how Megan Fox handled turning 40.

So, I'm going to get this week's Sunday Screencaps started with that. Megan didn’t even hint at a mid-life crisis. She didn’t go big Hollywood on her millions of followers either.

She handled turning the big 4-0 like any normal person would, with a few scantily clad pictures with what appears to be a lit match in her mouth at times. That's right, a birthday shoot of her playing with fire.

Say what you want, but even after all these years, Megan Fox is still just like the rest of us. That's impressive. She's somehow managed to keep herself grounded. But that doesn't mean she doesn’t have a message to pass along. Of course, she does.

The Netflix MMA extravaganza took place

Now that we've properly recognized Megan Fox's birthday, we can get to the three main events Netflix put together on Saturday night with Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions. I know you'll be shocked to hear this, but it was a ton of hype and fights that failed to live up to that hype.

It started with Frances Ngannou stepping back into the cage for an MMA fight, something he hadn’t done since 2024. That was the hype surrounding this fight, because he was fighting a tomato can. Granted, I'm what you might consider a casual MMA fan, but I've never heard of Philipe Lins.

The fight went as most expected it would. Ngannou ate a couple of shots before knocking the tomato can out cold. That's what he does. Don't get me wrong, everyone loves a good knockout.

Next up was the Mike Perry and Nate Diaz fight. If you've ever seen Diaz fight you know he can eat an insane amount of punches and still move forward. He's a zombie.

This fight, like the Ngannou one, didn’t go the distance and it didn’t deliver. Perry turned Diaz, first into a zombie, then a punching bag. The fight was stopped after a couple of rounds due to cuts to the punching bag.

The mumbling back and forth in the cage after the fight was the true highlight of the fight.

Then there was the "historic" disappointment, I mean matchup, to end the night. Finally, after all these years, Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano were going to fight.

Technically, that took place on Saturday night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. There were more hugs after the fight between the two than punches landed, and, in total, far more time clocked during those hugs than the fight itself.

Carano lasted one second for every year since her last fight. Rousey took her down, got on top, landed a few punches and submitted Carano with an armbar. All of that took a total of 17 seconds.

All in all, it was probably a pretty big night for Netflix. Maybe next time they can, at the very least, get Ngannou an actual opponent.

So I misread the SDSU baseball press release last week! The Mountain West continued play this weekend (the Aztecs clinched a berth in the MWC conference postseason tournament by beating San Jose State Friday night), but still has one more week to go.

Point Loma Nazarene - home of the most scenic ballpark in America! - swept their conference tourney - in a few hours we'll learn if they're hosting the Division II regionals again this year as they did a few years ago on their run to the Div. II CWS in Cary, N.C. Up in North County, Cal State San Marcos lost in their conference championship game. We'll also find out if they get an invite to the Div. II playoffs this evening.

UCSD also has yet another weekend left - against the always tough Cal State Fullerton.

So college baseball in San Diego had a pretty good season overall.

But we're spoiled here, because within a three-hour drive, we have everything from nationally ranked UCLA, powerhouse USC, and competitive Div. I programs at UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, and UC Riverside. Throw in a half-dozen Div. II schools in the L.A. - Orange County - Inland Empire area, an equal number of Div. III schools, and even a handful of NAIA schools, and January-May is a great time for baseball in SoCal.

Let's get the weekend started with a Saturday edition of Screencaps with Gina Carano's emotional Twitter post where she shared her emotions on the verge of tonight's fight against Ronda Rousey (9 p.m. ET, Netflix).

"Since Sept 2024 to today, May 15, 2026, I have lost 100lbs. It hurts to say that and share but I am going to share it because I worked so damn hard every week for over a year and a half to shed this weight. It did not happen overnight," Carano, 44, wrote on Twitter.

Hold up, she was 241 pounds in 2024? Where was I at? When I read that news, I couldn't believe the math. At Friday night's weigh-in, Gina made weight at 141.4 pounds for tonight's brawl.

"Thank you to Ronda, who waited patiently while I lost this weight and giving me something to aim for," Carano added.

• Did you guys catch the eighth inning of last night's Reds-Indians game where the Reds pitcher walked the bases loaded and then his replacement WALKED IN TWO RUNS? • Let's quickly pivot to the NASCAR Truck Series and Natalie Decker having a complete meltdown in the truck DURING THE RACE. After the race, Decker took to Instagram where she announced she wasn't quitting on the truck series. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

• And, finally, we have to address this trend I noticed where high schools are holding graduations on random weeknights. In Memphis, they tried to hold a Thursday night graduation, but, because it's Memphis, it couldn't just be a casual night. Instead, guests got into multiple fights and the local sheriff had to be called in to restore order.

To be fair, this could've happened on a Saturday.

I'm just trying to figure out why so many schools have gone to random days for graduation. What happened to kids graduating on Saturday and then hitting a kegger to celebrate? Does that even happen these days?

I get that there are only so many arenas and massive spaces to hold graduations, but this Memphis school used its gym on a Thursday. Let's get back to holding Saturday ceremonies where there might be brawls, but at least we can make a weekend out of it.

On travel ball and how it fits into Title IX restrictions

– Bobby C. will make you think with this opinion piece: When I was a college student writing a senior thesis on the pro-life movement, a fellow student wrote about Title IX and the war on men as his senior thesis in college, having been thrown out of a college because he was a wrestler and that school abolished the sport to appease Title IX.

Fast forward to 2014, when Ollier v. Sweetwater Union High School District created a new quota system for high schools regarding male sport in California that could quickly be enforced to high schools. We have seen participation in Olympic sport decline, and now even football is being cut in high schools to meet the quota system for Title IX where schools are required to meet gender quotas. In New York City's PSAL, there was a time boys couldn't play if they were assigned to newly created schools.

Now there is the idea that schools can cut football (+50 male), baseball (+2 male), marching band (+30 male) for the all-female dance teams (+20 female) because it adds to the proportionality of the Ollier mandates. Beauty pageants are added because +40 female adds to their mandates.

This is where travel ball comes in play. Travel ball is not governed by high schools and their enforcement of Ollier. A local high school baseball team is governed by high school league practice and play rules, along with being a third-tier sport in attendance and governed by Ollier.

For example, the last-place SEC baseball team did not even get 8,000 fans in attendance for the entire final series of three games which they jobbed (and should be relegated to the Sun Belt). But the girls' dance teams of a major dance studio ("travel dance") can get 10,000 attendance in four shows (about 2,500 in a major auditorium) they do at the end of the year, and at public festival appearances they have crowds that boys who play baseball can only wish they have, since they may not even get for the whole season what the travel dancers get in one weekend of attendance of travel dance conventions, festivals, or the end of season recitals. Schools are cracking down on dance team members, banning them from "travel dance" (studios and competitions). School dance team members, being female exclusively, are not restricted by Title IX restrictions the way boys in baseball and basketball are restricted by Title IX rulings.

My question is: Is travel ball for boys taking advantage of Title IX attacking male sport, and schools' social justice activism favouring girls where boys cannot do anything, so they play on unrestricted teams on travel squads? Soon the local high school may have no boys' teams and only activities for girls. And they will blame court rulings on Title IX and mandates by feds that could happen with the Left.

Effectively, a boy must pay $25,000 to play sports while a girl on the local school dance team or playing girls' sport at the local high school are not paying any of the massive expenses because she has options at the local school that the boy is not offered because of Title IX restrictions. This cost is not discussed but I have a sense Title IX activism against boys that Christina Hoff Sommers wrote in her books are coming home to roost, and travel ball is Exhibit A in what happens when you punish boys in schools and reward girls.

The unpredictable spring weather in Colorado for the girls' soccer state tournament

– Ryan shows us: My daughter’s team is headed to the girls soccer semifinals here in Colorado. Couple pics below from the first-round game in the snow vs. the third-round game at 75 degrees less than a week later. #skoridge

– Ryan also wanted to take a shot at Costco: I’m going there… Costco is overrated. Every time I go in there, I leave with a cart full of stuff we absolutely did not need. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve got plenty of great products, but the whole experience has become a total PITA.

And the gas lines? I’ll never understand it. Waiting 20 minutes to save $2.40 on a fill-up is wild behavior. Back in my Pro BBQ circuit days (nice flex, right?), I always carried both a Costco and Sam’s membership. Another flex, really living the high life over here in the Rocky Mtns. But lowkey, Sam’s has taken the top spot for me. My wife swears they carry more of the stuff we actually need versus the "keep up with the Joneses" widget showcase Costco has become.

And Sam’s pickup is legit, but honestly, I still like going in because they’ve got scan & go on the app. That thing is amazing. Scan everything on your phone, walk through some probably-radiation-spewing portal, and head straight out the door. No line checks. No receipt interrogation. No balloon smiley faces drawn on my receipt like I just completed kindergarten.

Sam’s has officially moved to #1 in my book.

ESPN writer says Lane Kiffin should try to stop Louisiana from 'eradicating' black voting power

OutKick recently credited ESPN for pivoting away from identity politics and incendiary rhetoric. Most of the network’s most racially idolatrous commentators are gone, from Mark Jones to Clinton Yates, from Elle Duncan to Sarah Spain.

Still, a few holdovers remain. David Dennis Jr. is one of them.

This week, Dennis published an inflammatory article for ESPN.com and Andscape titled "Why Lane Kiffin’s ‘Ole Miss’ virtue signaling falls flat." The piece responded to Kiffin saying, and later apologizing for saying, that some black families were uncomfortable with their sons and grandsons playing for Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi.

And, oh, is it a doozy.

Dennis opens by declaring that he would refer to the school as "Ole Miss" only once.

"This is the last time I’ll use that name, by the way, as its origins are related to slavery as well," Dennis wrote.

He then accused Kiffin of not caring enough about "diversity."

"His actions before and since taking the University of Mississippi job haven’t shown any care about diversity, or that the lack thereof in Oxford bothered him. Instead, this just looks like virtue signaling to justify his controversial move to Baton Rouge, which is insulting to people actually affected by what the University of Mississippi represents."

Dennis appeared even more upset that Kiffin took a job at LSU, in a state he accused of trying to suppress the black vote.

"As [Kiffin] probably knows, Louisiana is ground zero for last month’s Supreme Court ruling that essentially gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965," Dennis continued. "The state is currently working to eradicate black representation from its congressional delegation. At the same time, there’s a groundswell movement calling for black athletes to avoid SEC schools because of the potential demolition of the Voting Rights Act."

Eradicate black representation from its congressional delegation, huh? OutKick asked Dennis to elaborate on that claim. We did not hear back. We will update this story if we do.

CLAY TRAVIS VS STEPHEN A SMITH: DEBATE SHOWS RESPECTFUL DISCOURSE, LIKE CHARLIE KIRK WOULD HAVE ENCOURAGED

He concluded the section by suggesting Kiffin should use his platform to stop the alleged "eradication."

"If Kiffin is so concerned with recruits being turned off by the anti-black nature of a state’s politics, he might want to hurry up and use his power to effect change. He may want to say something about preserving everyone’s right to equal representation," Dennis wrote.

You can read the full piece here. The article gained traction Thursday night after OutKick founder Clay Travis posted about it on X.

"ESPN, which is the only partner on SEC athletics, employing a writer who posts articles ripping coaches and stirring up racial angst through politics, is absolutely insane to me," Clay wrote alongside a screenshot of Dennis’ article. Dennis has apparently blocked him.

Insane, indeed.

And this is Dennis’ entire schtick. He’s a poor man’s Bomani Jones.

For a refresher, Dennis is the ESPN writer who claimed Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad campaign "mortified" him. Let that sink in for a moment.

Other highlights from Dennis’ résumé include publishing a hit piece on Hulk Hogan just hours after his death, arguing the wrestling icon should be remembered only as a racist.

"When you are a racist that is your legacy above all else," Dennis wrote. "Hulk Hogan died being known as a racist who also became famous as a professional wrestler."

The issue with Dennis’ framing is the contrast between how he eulogized Hogan compared to Kobe Bryant. Bryant faced a rape accusation and also made homophobic comments during his career. Yet Dennis mentioned neither in a fawning obituary titled "Remembering Kobe Bryant, a Man Who Never Trusted in Tomorrow," in which he praised Bryant’s character off the court.

OutKick also asked Dennis about that apparent inconsistency at the time. He never responded. He appears to be another commentator who treats word crimes more seriously than alleged violent crimes.

Clay Travis also pointed out how Dennis is bad for ESPN’s business by portraying SEC schools and fans as racist. He’s right. But Dennis has also undermined another ESPN property, the WNBA, by openly rooting against Caitlin Clark’s fans.

"I hope the people who say they are staying away from the WNBA now that CC is gone actually keep to their promise," Dennis posted on X in 2024. "These are about to be all-time series and their toxicity isn’t needed. Let us enjoy things."

For context, Clark’s fans made up a majority share of WNBA viewership in 2024.

Sports media reporter Ryan Glasspiegel summarized Dennis’ comments with the headline: "ESPN employee says he wants lower ratings for ESPN property."

At some point, you have to wonder why ESPN keeps Dennis on the payroll.

He’s predictable, unprofessional, and painfully one-note. His fixation on race colors nearly every argument he makes. He’s the exact type of commentator who drove viewers away from ESPN in the first place.

What’s more, ESPN regularly puts Dennis on flagship shows like "First Take," "SportsCenter," and "NBA Today." It’s one thing to let him post dubious, grievance-driven essays on "Andscape." It’s another to position him as a serious television voice on sports.

Specifically, Dennis has virtually no background covering sports. He has spent most of his career writing about race, civil rights and his father. We can't say for certain why ESPN hired him in the first place, though the timing — at the height of BLM and the George Floyd riots — cannot be a coincidence.

ESPN likely understands all of this, but also has to be cautious. Dennis seems like the type of person who would immediately claim racism and threaten legal action.

Still, the network should probably soon find a way to announce that David Dennis Jr. has "mutually parted ways" with the company.

Keeping him on the roster undermines all of the recent progress ESPN has made.

It's Friday, the sun is blazing (it's like 53 degrees), you can just feel summer starting to crank up and Screencaps gets rolling with news that one of our favorite biological females who rose to fame during the transG era, Sydney Thomas, IS BACK and now she's playing poker against other celebrities.

Thomas, 22, is still in that period of her career where she's trying to find her place. Is it in modeling? Is it in acting? Can her agent get her placed in an Adam Sandler movie? Would she form an alliance with Sydney Sweeney and join the SYRN lingerie team?

She's already done the boxing ring girl thing. That wasn't going to be an actual career. Thomas' agent needs to place Sydney behind home plate at Dodgers games. Get her into suites at Rams games. She needs to be at the World Cup this summer. Sydney should throw out a first pitch at a Cubs game.

I'm talking a playbook straight out of 2010 when Internet models throwing out first pitches at Cubs games was a rite of passage into pop culture fame.

Kinsey: I didn't see coverage until around 10 p.m. after my night getting the van jumped, mowing, taking the trash out, etc. I did see Smylie Kaufman hitting shots on the Golf Channel and doing a great job explaining the course and the conditions the guys faced on Thursday.

I'm turning into a big fan of Kaufman's broadcasting style: cool, calm, collected. The guy is smooth. I'm even a big fan of the Happy Hour bit that Golf Channel is doing with Smylie. We just aren't getting much live content like that on TV these days. I LOVE the relaxed approach Golf Channel is taking with Smylie. Keep it coming.

Screencaps readers on the state of Costco, especially on weekends when the degenerates start coming out of the woodwork

Kinsey: Same here, Chris. What I've found is that if I go at like 6 on a Saturday night, I'm typically good. People are burnt out for the day. They've taken their two-pound queso barrels to parties. Unless I'm in a pinch, I go during off-hours on weekends.

Tennessee hasn't lost its country roots with all the California people moving in

– Mark in Tennessee reports: The Franklin Noon Rotary Club puts on an annual rodeo as our primary fundraiser. This event has grown from some local cowboys having some fun to the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi. We will gross well over a million dollars and net $4-500K for our charitable foundation.

This is our 75th rodeo, and I have worked 36 consecutive events. Three nights of hard work for a great cause. And I can legitimately say "this ain't my first rodeo."

– Brandon in NKY reports: Reading about the 13u rec league exploits got my brain on the way back machine. My son graduated from high school last night. It seems just like yesterday I was helping coach his school team in Knothole T-Ball. Those were fun days, trying to keep the boys engaged instead of making piles of sand or picking dandelions was a tall task in practice and during the games. After the game you tell them to get a drink and a snack from the concession stand then buy a round for the other coaches. Fast forward a few years and I can no longer coach because he was poached by a travel/summer ball team and the days of camaraderie are gone. I say that to say this, I never enjoyed watching his team play after knothole, it all seemed like an exhibition game, no true rivalries, no league title to play for. No after parties since we were at a treeless softball complex for 12hrs on a Saturday in the heat. You seem like you’ve got an awesome thing going with your boys and parents, keep fighting for it and also enjoy it because one day they’ll graduate and all you will have left are the memories. It's Thursday morning and the sun is out here in NW Ohio for another edition of Screencaps where we get started with more news about the world of pop culture healing from the woke, disgusting Biden era where being a loud-mouth purple hair lingerie model was more important than being a beautiful biological female like Rachel Pizzolato.

Who is Pizzolato? She's an Instagram content creator –– legit content creator; she can change brakes on a Hyundai –– who went in Wednesday for a test shoot with Victoria's Secret. Why is that a big deal? Well, because she's an actual female going in for a test shoot for a brand that has made a habit of trotting out biological males in lingerie for its annual fashion show.

Rachel isn't on the level of Sydney Sweeney going in and saving American Eagle, but she's the type of personality that pop culture needs and heals. Is there another Victoria's Secret model who can change the oil in a 2025 Hyundai? I highly doubt it. But, Rachel can.

Here's the proof. Is there a Victoria's Secret Angel who can repair a toilet? I've been working on the Internet 18 years and I can't name one. It turns out Rachel has a full video on her repairing a toilet.

Speaking of Sweeney, she's trying to steal lingerie market share from Victoria's Secret with her new SYRN brand. The energy right now is on SYRN's side. Pizzolato wouldn't be a complete game-changing move from VS, but it would be a move in the right direction. You'd have American women in a lingerie showdown like the old days of the United States.

My 14U boys (we have 10 13-year-olds on the team) got a lesson last night from a high-level travel ball player who lit up our rec ball team

I'd say he threw in the low 80s maybe the mid-80s. With control. I'm talking a 14-year-old kid straight out of central casting for a baseball movie. Probably 5'8. 230 pounds. Maybe a couple more pounds after a big breakfast. Growing up in Brookville, OH, my family would call this kid corn-fed. Thick as an ox. Any fat was actually muscle. Big boned. Head the size of a bull.

And he threw flat-out SMOKE. Highly controlled smoke. Here's the kicker: He was the second pitcher we faced last night. The first one went three innings and gave up one hit. That kid threw over-powering heat, but not nearly like this ox. Out of 12 pitches in the 4th inning, nine were strikes. He painted the corners. Up, down. Inside. Sliced and diced.

As I was coaching 3rd base, the shortstop and third baseman were talking to each other saying, "thank god we don't have to face him." At the plate, the ox went 3-for-3 with a double and a triple.

Last night, as I was decompressing from the night, I did some investigating and it turns out the ox spends part of his summers playing in high-level Perfect Game travel ball showcases around the midwest. In the spring, while in school, it appears he plays with his school buddies. I had zero problem with him destroying our team. It was actually very impressive to witness. And the kid never said a word. Never ran his mouth. He just went about his business methodically and destructively.

If only there was a way to get my kids to take an ounce of that mentality. Final score: 11-1. That team might not lose a game this summer.

Also, Phil slightly overlooked a small, but critical detail - weddings are, traditionally speaking, about the bride. The groom’s job is to be more of Supporting Actor with speaking lines.

As far as walk up music for 11 & 12 years olds? I think it’s harmless, fun even - a little swagger never hurt anyone. Until it does. The second a kid cares more about his intro than his at-bat, you’ve turned development into distraction and you’ve lost the plot.

At that age, the checklist is simple: No one on – get on base. Runner on 1st – move him over. Runner in scoring position – get the job done.Not: "Let me time my glove adjustment with the beat drop." They should be learning how to play the great game of baseball—not building a personal brand. And for the "Professional players have walk up songs" crowd – I hate to ruin your fantasy, but when they step into the box, they’re not thinking about Metallica vs. Drake. They’re locked in on: The situation. The pitcher. Swing cues. The music for the crowd.

It’s part of the show baseball has become (See also: closers entering like WWE superstars).One thing I would agree with Phil on is entrance music for work. This is a wildly underutilized concept. Lucky for me I work from home and can have an entrance song if I want. Personally, I’d go with AC/DC’s Thunderstruck or Big Bad Wolf (Warner/Chappell Productions) if I want to fully commit to bad decisions.

Of course if I did, my dogs would give me the side eye and my wife would seriously reconsider her life choices. But for a brief, glorious moment… I’d feel like I just crushed a walk-off dinger in Game 7.

– Otis in Mobile checks in: A lot of talk lately about Walk up Music and the Savannah Bananas, which may be two sides of the same coin. Baseball may be America's pastime and going to games at any level is a lot of fun, but I just do not think it translates well to television, especially in today's world where everything seems to be instant gratification. So yes the Savannah Bananas are going to draw crowds because it adds some entertainment to the event. I have watched a few innings on TV and it was fun but it was not long before I switched the channel and I have no intention to attend a Bananas game for one simple reason. It's just too loud. If I want to constantly be bombarded with loud music and a thousand things going on at once I will go to Mexico. It is cheaper and the food is better. No hate, I think what Jesse Cole has fought through to make this thing successful is amazing and I wish that league all the best.

I feel that the walkup music in baseball is the same thing, a little something outside the norm to liven things up. The fans like it and even Outkick has posted articles dedicated to a single player's music and how it is awesome....or it isn't. Young players seeing this from players they want to imitate are naturally going to do the same, mostly in the interest of "look at me". And you know what? That is fine. Do your thing kid, but just remember that when you draw attention to yourself and fail to get the result you want, it can be embarrassing.

This is where I think the coach that was ejected by the teenage umpire made his mistake. If he thought the lyrics were unsuitable and complained that is one thing, but I really do not think that was the entirety of his complaint. I think he felt like his team was getting shown up and did not like it, so he decided he was going to stop it. The problem is that most of the time you cannot control other people and even if you can, maybe you shouldn't. I have never coached baseball but I have coached some kids flag football and every team has its talkers. When our kids complained about a talker my response was always the same thing. "If you don't like him talking, then shut him down. Beat that team. Do YOUR talking on the field with your play." My opinion is that after it was obvious the ref was not going to give him what he wanted he should have called his team to the pitchers mound and fired them up so that the walk up music became an advantage for HIS team. Instead he took his ball and went home, forfeiting the game.

One of the reasons that I love sports is that it is a metaphor for life, and he failed those kids by not teaching them some life lessons.

1. Control what you can control and make your own destiny, not what other people want it to be.

2. Sometimes no matter how hard you try things do not go your way. Finish what you start and get better every day

Jemele Hill becomes surprising voice of reason in Caitlin Clark-Morgan Wallen "controversy"

The discourse around Caitlin Clark walking out with Morgan Wallen at his concert last Saturday is so far off the rails that it turned Jemele Hill into a voice of reason. Yes, you read that correctly.

For background, the usual race idolaters expressed fierce outrage over Clark associating with Wallen, who once used a racial slur in 2021. Van Lathan and Jalen Rose's adult daughter were among the loudest critics. An ESPN guest writer named Jayson Buford published this gem on Substack:

"Caitlin Clark is beloved by most people despite her proximity to the type of whiteness that is inherently scary," Buford wrote. "So why did she walk out with Morgan Wallen? It's so blatantly corny. Just be cool."

DOUBLE STANDARD: IT'S ONLY A CONTROVERSY WHEN CAITLIN CLARK WALKS OUT WITH MORGAN WALLEN

Given the racial framing surrounding Clark, it would've been easy to assume Hill would join the fray. However, Hill actually defended the Fever guard.

"On the latest episode of SPOLITICS Live, I ask why Caitlin Clark is getting smoke for walking out with country star Morgan Wallen at his concert when Peyton Manning, Travis Kelce, Myles Garrett, Marshawn Lynch, and many other male athletes have done the exact same thing," Hill said.

And Patrick Mahomes.

That was the same point OutKick made on Monday. The list of athletes, both black and white, who have walked out with Wallen is long. Yet somehow, it only became controversial when Clark did it.

Now, Hill avoids upsetting her audience by framing the disparate response to Clark as a gender issue. That is not accurate. WNBA player Paige Bueckers and Coach Dawn Staley posed and hugged Chris Brown at his concert last year without any pushback. Whatever you think of Wallen, Brown is a serial abuser. He committed violent crimes. At worst, Wallen committed a word crime.

The issue is that various black commentators and influencers have an unusual disdain for Clark because she is a straight white woman who is the biggest star in a league marketed around identity politics.

Historically, Jemele Hill has fit squarely into that crowd.

She previously defended WNBA players for targeting, hard fouling and bullying Clark, dismissing the treatment as mere "competitiveness." She also claimed Clark didn't face the same online harassment as black female athletes, a post she later deleted after police arrested a man accused of stalking Clark.

Note: Clark is the most famous player in the league by far. She almost certainly receives more online harassment than anyone else in the WNBA.

Nonetheless, we are surprised to see Hill stand up for Clark. It must've been challenging for her to do so. And she backed her point, noting that some people can separate the art from the artist, even though she cannot always do so.

"[I'm] done with Kanye. Been done with Kanye. Can't do it," Hill explained. "R. Kelly, been done with R. Kelly. Can't do it."

She then compared the reaction to Wallen with the public treatment of Chris Brown:

"Chris Brown did his time. So okay. Well, some would say Morgan Wallen did too. He apologized. He went to rehab. He gave half a million dollars to black organizations. They would say he did too."

Fair enough.

Few people in the media have benefited more from manufactured claims of racism than Jemele Hill has. We also maintain that she plays a racist character online for clout, when she has spent her entire career surrounding herself with White colleagues, agents, managers and bosses.

It's an act. Racial division pays well, especially when you play a black person who makes nasty comments about white people.

Still, credit where it's due. Hill provided a refreshing, nuanced response to the Caitlin Clark-Morgan Wallen "controversy."

I can mention all sorts of Instagram models at home. I can mention that we had Terann Hilow on Screencaps Recap when I appear on Dan Dakich's show. I can mention the Sports Illustrated swimsuit covers are out. Any mention of Shakira and Mrs. Screencaps is on edge.

"She's kinda annoying with the fake voice thing," Mrs. Screencaps says. "Isn't she a criminal," she added, while wondering if it wasn't tax evasion that got Shakira, 49, into trouble. That is true.

Millennial Chris B. in Bowling Green mentioned in the boys' text group that he was sitting in a meeting Tuesday when a member of the company's IT team was giving a presentation. During the speech, the IT guy said, "screencaps" instead of "screenshot" and Millennial Chris B's radar alert system went off. He immediately shared the news.

That's just not a word that you hear very often, especially out of the mouth of an IT guy. There's a very select group of Americans who have "Screencaps" on their brain. I am 95% convinced the IT guy is a reader.

Some of you want to know if I'm still predicting Wendy's death even though this Nelson guy is trying to take the company private. Look, I see what I see across this country with my own eyes. I see Chick-fil-A with a bunch of Christian kids from the local churches slinging chicken nuggets at a record pace. I see fewer Americans seeking out a burger. I see fewer Americans caring about Wendy's chili. I see Culver's popping up all over the Midwest, which cuts into the traditional Wendy's market.

Then, I can drive through a Wendy's this afternoon and I can pretty much guarantee that I will encounter the worst of the worst fast-food workers. McDonald's is still on top of the leaderboard around here for the ex-con workers, but there's something about the employees Wendy's, especially here in NW Ohio, hires.

It seriously feels like a crack rock is going to fall into my fries at any moment.

Look, I wish Nelson nothing but the best of luck. Wendy's is an Ohio institution. Ohioans care about what Dave Thomas built. The Wendy's headquarters is on an elite piece of property in Dublin, OH that would leave a big scar if it were to leave or completely go out of business.

I am simply just asking for those executives in Dublin to come through the drive-thrus around here and tell me, hand on a Bible, if they feel comfortable with the weirdos they have representing the brand. They cannot tell me with a straight face that they are comfortable. It's sad.

My boss, who lives in New Jersey, once asked me why I'd go to Costco when I could just have it delivered. His Costco is overrun. Even here in NW Ohio, the Toledo Costco is pure torture. It's breaking at the seams with customers.

The problem, as I've investigated over the last couple of years, is that Costco was incredibly good at signing up degenerates. I'm talking the pajamas at the airport crowd. I got to see the 90s Chicago Bulls many times, and the team took the court famously to Sirius, and the other team just had to sit there and take it. Entrance music is great. I’ve said for years that if I ever get married, I’m not just gonna wait at the altar for my bride to do the slow walk down the aisle to whatever song she wants. Maybe the mindset should be what event or daily routine would be dramatically improved if you had your own walk up song? Maybe opening the garage on Thursday night and slowly seeing the mower while "Eye of the Tiger" starts playing? Anyone? That is it this morning. I'm loving all the reports coming in from around the country. We have Mike T. investigating beer stores in Canada. We have readers dialed in on Wendy's. We have the walk-up music thing going on. Readers have their heads on swivels right now and it's beautiful to see as summer nears.

The pool cover came off last night. To my surprise, everything turned on like normal. I did have a sand filter issue, but I think we've corrected that. The new pump and motor are working beautifully. This pool, based on the records we have, is entering its 44th season. We didn't pick this house for the pool. We picked the house and inherited a pool. It can be a pain in the ass, but it keeps me busy. It's all about perspective.

Let's get Tuesday Screencaps rolling with the WNBA's Sophie Cunningham being the total opposite of the typical angry lesbians who make the league so insufferable. There can't be too many WNBA players who even know this Garth Brooks classic.

Can Sophie sing? I'll leave that to you guys, but I do know she understands how to dress for a night out at the country bars in Indianapolis. Here's the beauty of this video: It's fun. Nothing more, nothing less. It's the fun that America needs to be having in 2026. It's the America I want to live in as this country prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday.

Here's my challenge to you this summer: Go find nights like this. You might not run into Sophie Cunningham singing country classics, but you can go find blowout nights like this one. You can act 35 again. Go feel great about this country and how fortunate we are to call this place home.

– Rick in Sanger, Texas emails: Perfect example of where we are in America. Youth baseball players now think they need walk up music. They flip their bats, beat their chest, stare down the pitcher when they hit a hit a HR and generally act like the hotdog idiot players they see on TV. Have you been to a youth basketball tournament lately? Same kind of crap going on there.

Do you think this is good behavior for a youth baseball player? How do you think this correlates to the upbringing of the child and contributes to his inability to function at a job or in society without having the attention focused on them because they perceive themselves as special?

It started with millennials and then Gen Z, and now we have a new batch of spoiled brats. An example of this entitled individual can be seen on any airplane, any day of the week. People who think it’s all about them and don’t understand we’re not here to serve them and they’re not special. A civil society has rules for decorum.Rob Manfred ruined the game with the pitch clock because of mental midgets who can’t sit through a baseball game because they failed to make the effort to understand the game. Petulant adult children who can’t stay off their phones and never stayed for nine innings anyway.

That said, I have to give the teen ump credit for how he handled the Idaho situation. We're told that the incident with the coach happened in either the 3rd or 4th inning. The game was nearly over. The ump just wants to get through this and get home to play his PS5 and I don't blame him.

The coach was simply following it - the coach was calm, the umpire was not- no umpire should be pulling the children into the umpire debate.- and btw, the coach wasn’t ejected.

Kinsey: Should I trust Stefan? It sure looks like the ump threw thew coach out of the game for refusing to leave the field and play the game. Stefan should send me footage that contradicts the reports I'm receiving.

Screencaps readers are starting to turn on the Savannah Bananas

– Tom T. checks in: I have to agree with Duncan’s email about the Savannah Bananas. I got a chance to purchase 5 tickets when Firefighters and the Texas Tailgaters came to our single A stadium last year. It was a bargain… 30$ per ticket.

The pregame was a big deal… a rock concert, autographs, and 20$ beers, just like the big leagues. Once we got to our seat, it was just….... baseball and music. The Bananas’ emcee was not synced up properly with the stadium sound system, so you could not understand a word that he said. He sounded like the school teacher on a Charlie Brown cartoon. If you can’t hear the emcee, you don’t understand any of the "bits" that they do, or the special scoring. It was just continuous loud music with baseball. Given the hype, I was honestly expecting the pitcher to throw a flaming baseball to a hitter with a flaming bat. No Dice. God willing, I will take a grandchild someday, but I’m out for now.

Kinsey: I get it. Times change. The rawness of the Bananas that we felt years ago has worn off. The organization has grown up. Hell, even the field they play on in Savannah is no longer dirt. When I was there a few years ago, the Bananas players had to work the dirt infield. There was no ground's crew. The players were responsible. Now? It's all field turf. The entire field.

Still, there's something about a hot July night on the patio with my boys half-watching the Bananas game, swimming, eating, listening to music and enjoying summer. By that time of the year, I just want silliness. Give me the Bananas doing backflips to catch balls and Stilts being called in to pitch. To me, it's still fun in the right moments of life.

Let's get Monday Screencaps off and running with Wheel of Fortune heir Maggie Sajak making it Banana-ball official with trickster Jackson Olson. Legacy Screencaps readers know that I've been a big fan of Maggie going back like 5-6 years when I called for Vanna White to step aside, so Pat's daughter could take the job that was rightfully hers upon Vanna's retirement.

Instead, Vanna refused to retire, even when Pat hung up his work boots. To her credit, from everything I can gather, Maggie, 31, has been a good soldier as Vanna tries to figure out when to ride off into the sunset.

Why am I such a big Maggie fan? Because she could've turned into the toxic teammate who tried to push the Boomer out the door, but she hasn't. She's been a great teammate while being relegated to some social media role with Wheel of Fortune.

And now she's been rewarded by the locker room gods by finding a relationship with Banana-ball heartbreaker Jackson Olson who is considered one of the biggest catches in trick baseball history. Let this be a lesson to all the toxic women out there. Be like Maggie.

PAT SAJAK'S DAUGHTER FINDS ROMANCE WITH VIRAL BASEBALL STAR AFTER 'BOYFRIEND APPLICATION'

– Duncan gives us an update on the state of Banana-ball: 3 years ago my family won the lottery to see the Savannah Bananas in a minor league stadium. This was when they started to get popular, but not nearly to the level they're at today. Unfortunately the game was rained out and we didn't get to see them. Fast forward to today, and I had free tickets from work. We left after the 5th inning. My kids love baseball, but the game was in the background of the non-stop music, the teams dancing, all of the festivities in between innings, etc. When we got home, we all agreed we were ready to leave after 2 innings. I honestly think they have jumped the shark.

The transfer portal isn't just here for high school sports, it's going to crush your local high school like I've been screaming for the last two years

From the Wall Street Journal: Teens in Florida, especially in the lucrative sports of football, basketball and baseball, jump from school to school chasing playing time, winning teams, talented teammates, connected coaches and anything else that might put them on the radar of colleges, boosters and corporate sponsors with millions to spend.

In this academic year alone, interscholastic officials have recorded 7,028 athletic transfers, up from 5,688 last year. Elite football players commonly pass through two or three schools and some students transfer eight times, according to a top regulator.

Kinsey: Drip...drip...drip...emailers told me I was crazy when I said D1 high school sports as we know it will be dead in a matter of years. It's only going to trickle down just like travel ball trickled down. FOMO is kicking in, folks. If your kid isn't on one of these top teams, you better find a spot on the B-level high school program.

But here's the hook that I see coming: High schools will farm out their programs to local club organizations that will be bought up by big investors. The price to run these programs will become too much for public high schools. Deals will be pushed for the clubs to cover the finances, via the big investor money and parents who are willing to pay whatever it costs to be on these teams.

Your kids will eventually be the cheap labor to turn massive profits for the investors. The blind parents will walk right into this trap.

The end of the middle school track season & the start of vegetable season

– Greg in Nebraska shares: I went to the last middle school track meet of the year on Friday. Yes it was long. Started at 10 and ended at 4. Seemed much longer. My daughter did long jump at 10:00 which was a good way to start the day. It was over by 10:15. Then it was waiting until about 2 until she ran the 4:00, then another hour or so to wait for the 8:00. Then another hour until the relay. So all together she was participating in events for no more than 10 minutes of the 6 hours.

I did sit in my car with the AC on while doing some work emails so I was a little busy but it was a challenge. I did sit next to a dad friend of mine. It was fun sitting with other parents and yelling for their kids and them yelling for mine. The time was slow but we all made it.

After it was done I went to see if she was riding home with me or on the bus. She saw me and came up and gave me a hug and was so happy I was there. I am glad I was there. Some good things about the meet was getting to see all of the hot moms from the other towns. Some were very impressive. Also I stopped at a BBQ place and got some pork, brisket, ribs and corn bread for the road. That was a great way to end the day.

Monday I am watching high school tennis all day. That is 9:00 til about 6 or 7 at the earliest. Think of me about 2 and know I’ve got another 4 or 5 hours to go.

Regarding the garden. My daughter and I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries, and peppers today while Mrs took her Mother’s Day nap. I have cattle panel trellises set up. I’ll keep you updated on the growth.

The world of food delivery

Now, having worked in food and drink, I always tip, even if it's a few bucks while picking up food from the counter.I did make a delivery exception a few weeks ago. I just had my knee replaced and couldn't drive.

The awesome Mrs. S and my son were at a school event, and my daughter and I were landlocked. She wanted pizza. I didn't have anything frozen to cook up, so we settled on delivery.I ordered online and when it suggested a tip, I clicked zero, since I'm a cash guy and planned to tip the driver handsomely (due to my physical limitations). The website said 25 minutes 'til pizza.

At P minus 20 minutes, I hobbled to the door and waited - cash ready for the tip - and nothing. 25 minutes. 30 minutes... I opened the door to check, and sure enough, the driver was early and had deposited our food on the little table we have for package deliveries. They never knocked, never rang the bell, nothing! I had $15 cash in my hand to give them for a $42 order!It's marketing 101 delivery people! Ring the bell. Look them in the eye. Hand them the goods. Offer plastic ware, condiments, etc. Say thank you! OK, that's just me. Maybe the delivery companies discourage personal interaction, since the psycho level has markedly increased.There have to be some members of the SC fam who play the delivery game. I'd love to hear their thoughts.

That is it this morning. It's May 11 and we have yet to see a warm-up where you can just sit on the patio in shorts and a t-shirt after a long day of working in the yard. I'm so ready for the 80s. Would it be too much to ask for a light breeze? I'm not going to get picky. I'd even take like 10 mph wind and 82.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. For anyone who has little ones and is responsible for making sure they have a gift for your better half, I hope you were on top of that and aren't scrambling to find something this morning. I've been there before.

I don’t remember ever forgetting entirely or running out on the morning of Mother's Day to grab something from the kids, but it has snuck up on me before and I have done some last minute brainstorming for a gift idea. Not this year. I was all over it.

We were out and my wife pointed something out that she wouldn’t mind having for Christmas. I took a picture, got with the older two, and executed a flawless gameplan. I had the gift by Friday morning and Mother's Day taken care of without having to grab a gift card or an Edible Arrangement or something on Saturday.

Spencer Jones was dominated by Front Row Amy during his MLB debut

It's happened before and it will happen again as long as legendary Milwaukee Brewers fan Front Row Amy is still able to show up to the ballpark for home games. A prospect's Major League Baseball debut will be dominated by her.

On Friday, it was New York Yankees prospect Spencer Jones who had his debut dominated by the Brewers biggest fan. As my dad said in the family group chat, "Welcome to the bigs."

And as one of my brothers pointed out, Jones is "Definitely not in Double A anymore."

No, he's not in Double A anymore and looking back, Jones didn’t stand a chance in his big league debut. Front Row Amy was ready for the bright lights of the Yankees prospect and so was "some dildo throwing 104," as my brother so eloquently put it about the pitching that greeted the 6-foot-7 outfielder.

That's right, the respect for the game is generational in our family. He was 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts on Friday night. He went hitless again on Saturday and added two more strikeouts to his total.

Madison Beer put Justin Herbert in one of her music videos

Haters of love might see Justin Herbert's appearance in his girlfriend Madison Beer's "lovergirl" music video as part of a humiliation ritual. They might say that he should be focusing on preparing for the upcoming season and getting the Los Angeles Chargers over the hump.

You could even hear some saying he should be in the weight room and not prancing around playing patty-cake with his girlfriend. You won’t hear that out of me.

Herbert's not going through the motions and pretending to be a relationship with a pop singer like some aging tight end. He isn't just in a Madison Beer music video, he's continuing to give the NFL a real relationship to root for. How can you not support that?

Plus, it's not like Beer isn’t known for her own MVP-worthy performances. She is, and when you're striving for greatness, you surround yourself with greatness.

Chargers fans have nothing to worry about. The fact that Herbert is taking time during the offseason to appear in a music video is a good thing. It shows he's not worried about continuously falling short or the fact that the franchise appears to be cursed.

You can't perform with the weight of an entire franchise on your shoulders. You can if you're running around in a music video with your girlfriend without a care in the world.

College Baseball

By this time of the season, I've usually been to a half-dozen or more college baseball games. This year the year got away from me. But with some college buddies in town visiting, I managed to sneak in a cross-town double-header.

First stop: Point Loma Nazarene University. The parking lot sits right above the Pacific, with the ballfield another 50 feet up the bluffs.

There is almost zero foul territory at Carroll B. Land Stadium - several times, there were wild pitches or passed balls with a runner on third - not once did the runner even pretend to be headed home. With the backstop maybe 12 feet behind home plate, the catcher just turns and waits for the rebound. (Although I do hate getting stuck in the Uecker seats all the way back in the fifth (and final) row ...)

Anyway, the Sea Lions had already clinched the PacWest season tite and top seeding in the conference playoffs. I had to leave in the top of the fifth, with PLNU leading 9-4, and they ended up winning by that score - and, I saw later, also won the nightcap.

Across town at San Diego State, the Aztecs were playing Nevada for the Mountain West regular season title. They'd won Friday night to pull out of a tie with the Wolfpack. By coming back to win Saturday night, the Aztecs clinched the title - among their final conference titles in the Mountain West as they join the revamped Pac-12 this summer.

So now four of our local college baseball teams are off to their conference playoffs, with UCSD in third place in the Big West, and Cal State San Marcos with the #2 seed in the CCAA Conference.. (USD finished a distant 8th in the WCC,)

A plug for Lacrosse (lax). Great game: fast, high scoring, contact akin to hockey. Open field play like soccer. Typical score might be 15-12. Lots of the goals are assisted - some great passing. Some of the highlights will fit nicely on OK. One recently had a behind the back assist resulting in a behind the back shot and score. Both guys were on the move and being guarded. Bang-bang stuff.

I predict that you and your readers will get hooked in for the start of next season (in early spring). The broader market is largely missing this game. It's has grown from a kind of elite northeastern game 20 years ago to countrywide now. Not just colleges, but High schools and youth clubs in all directions.

Late season now, conference tournaments just ending. But prime time to show out.

Just now time for the big dance. NCAA tournament starts (selection Sunday today) this week, with final four at end of May. Championship game traditionally mid-day. None of this 9pm start crap.

NC game on Memorial Day, with Semis on Saturday before.

Let's get Saturday Screencaps rolling with Paige "Paigeviews" Spiranac hitting some absolute bombs at the Truist Championship pro-am this week where the PGA boys are battling a meat grinder of a course. Rory's brain is scrambled over this course. Did you see the two-foot gimme birdie putt that he pushed to the right during Friday's round?

I did. I was sitting in the man cave last night stuffing Thursday Night Mowing League sticker envelopes – get yours before they're gone! – and actually felt bad for Rory. That's how close the putt was.

Let's get back to Paige. There was a time when the PGA Tour wouldn't dare invite this content machine to its pro-ams. Over at the LPGA Tour, she was pretty much blackballed over her attire. Paige has talked about how she was shunned. Paige was, it seemed, from the wrong side of the tracks.

Now, here we are two to three years removed from the Bud Light fiasco and we're getting more Paige from the PGA. Listen to the people in the video calling out her name. Women love Paige. Men definitely love Paige. The kids want her autograph. That's the America I want to live in, not the one where Bud Light hasn't featured a single woman on its Instagram page in 2026. If you sent me an envelope for a TNML sticker, I have stuffed your envelope...IF YOU SENT ME THE RIGHT SIZE ENVELOPE. I never even thought to tell people to send envelopes that would fit a 4" sticker. I had people sending me envelopes that wouldn't fit a 2" sticker. I have probably 10 sticker requests that I'll have to eat the postage because people didn't send the right size envelope, but that's on me for not spelling out the rules and regulations. Lesson learned on my part.

Speaking of TNML mail, I received a University of Tennessee graduation invitation addressed to "Ella Langley" and sent to the TNML mailbox. The invitation includes a very long note from the female grad directed right at Ella. It's absolutely bizarre.

Being at the far west tip of Texas, we considered Midland/Odessa "East Texas". Our regional tournament was always in Lubbock, TX (approx. 350 mis., but like Dillon, we measure things in hours, so a good 5.5 hours). Closest I've been to Dillon is our annual SD pheasant hunt, and that felt like a LONG way north. Don't mind the cold for a few days, but prefer the warm weather on the water! Americans and their DoorDash addiction

– Chris W. in California has thoughts: Reading about how much we great Americans are spending on DoorDash is insane! I cannot for the life of me understand why people want to pay a premium for cold food delivered by some random dropout in a barely running Honda Civic. My youngest step-daughter has food delivered via DoorDash all the time and not only is almost all fast food way overpriced but by the time she pays the DoorDash fee and a tip she could have gone out for a halfway decent dinner at a sit-down restaurant or bought a nice steak to grill up but she can't be bothered to drive literally 1 block away to the McDonald's down the street!

I refuse to have anything delivered to me, even pizza. It's much quicker, easier and cheaper for me to get in m truck and drive a few blocks to any of the local places we get food from. I don't have to tip (because I'll be damned if I'm going to tip if I'm picking up the food from a takeout counter), the food is hotter and if something is messed up with my order I can get it fixed right then and there. Running out to pick up Chinese REALLY isn't that hard or that inconvenient and I'd much rather do that then sit around hoping and praying my food shows up in a timely, somewhat edible manner delivered by someone I probably wouldn't want as a guest in my house anyway.

As for the person that wrote in about the stranger that pulled into his driveway with a job, I think he was right on. In my 46 years of life I've learned to trust that little voice in my head and if something seems off it normally is. It sounds like the whole thing turned out okay, but the one time you don't trust that voice could be the one time the s hits the fan. Even if the stranger's intentions were truly ultraistic that is still an extremely odd thing to do and I think most of your readers would have reacted the same way.

A stranger pulls into my driveway and I'm not expecting them I'm coming out locked and loaded. I live in California so I'll probably get life in prison for just thinking that but I don't care. I'd rather be prepared to protect my loved ones than be left flatfooted. We've all gotta wear it from the wife from time to time because let's face it, we just think differently than they do on certain things but it's worth it and this too shall pass.

Random thoughts including a question on winning the Savannah Bananas lottery

– Jeff dumped out a few thoughts on Thursday: - How much life are folks getting out of mowers and yard equipment? I have a 25 year old John Deere 125 with B&S 20hp engine. I rarely do any maintenance on it (had to replace a head on it 10 years ago due to rods bending from overheating). It sits in the shed over the winter with whatever gas is left in the tank after the last leaf chopping. Fires right up in the spring. Same with my 25 year old Craftsman 14" rear tine tiller. The 11 year old Honda push mower that I use to mow & bag around the pool sits outside all year. I keep a rain cover on it but that's it. Pretty sure anything new I bought today would not tolerate that kind of treatment or get the same longevity. But maybe I'm wrong.

- Has anyone scored Banana Ball tickets from their lottery? I've tried a couple of times (Louisville a few years ago; Lexington this year). No luck. I don't care enough to pay scalper prices but am curious how often folks are able to get tickets from their generic lottery.

- How could you let the Outkick store run out of XL size TNML t-shirts? Seems like that would be the size you'd always want on hand. Oh well. Hopefully the Large runs "big".

- I decided I'd rather have a "dead strip" along/under my 4 board fence (with chain link) than spend 2+ hours with the weedeater. I hit it a few times a year with generic RoundUp. If that's cheating I don't care.

- Anyone else get over eager to start their vegetable garden only to get wiped out by frost last weekend? Now I get to do it again this weekend.

Time to put on the 1/4 zip (it's still chilly in KY) and get mowing.

Kinsey: My Briggs & Stratton push mower lasted 15 years, and was still running, but I'd reached a point where I was ready for some better mulching features, which led to my Honda purchase. A neighbor picked up the mower in a trade (Mrs. Screencaps wanted a bike that this guy had), refurbished it a little bit and I assume flipped it on Marketplace.

As for the Bananas, Canoe Kirk won the lottery two years ago, I believe it was. Other than that, I can't think of any of my immediate friends who've won.

Let's get Friday Screencaps and the weekend cranking with Tiffany Stratton and her NEW WWE United States Championship belt going for a ride around Miami on a jet ski to celebrate her recent victory where she defeated Giulia during an episode of SmackDown.

I am not a wrestling guy, but I know content and the minute Tiff busted out that belt and started parading it around Biscayne Bay like it's a Super Bowl trophy, I knew immediately that it was Screencaps material.

By the way, according to wrestling insiders, real WWE belts have been estimated to be worth up to at least $250,000. An Andre the Giant championship belt reportedly sold for $600,000. In other words, Tiff Tiff's belt here probably isn't worth over a half-million, but it's not some cheap piece of plastic either. Put it this way, if she dropped it into the Bay, there's a good chance Triple H is sending a dive team down to go retrieve it.

Now that the blood is good and pumping, let's keep rolling with a trip to North Dakota

The legacy Screencaps readers know that this column has a contingent of readers from Crosby, North Dakota. We're talking an extremely remote part of the United States where you're on your own. The nearest McDonald's is a helluva drive. If you want Chick-fil-A, it's a four-to five-hour trip. You get the idea. These boys are REMOTE.

But, because they're in the middle of nowhere, we get videos like this from Dillon L. who is coaching the golf team. Yes, Crosby has its own nine-hole course and it's nice because the locals keep it nice and take pride in what they have.

– Dillon writes: Thought you and the caps community would appreciate this video from our high school golf meet today. This occurred on hole 5 here at the Crosby Country Club.

Kinsey: How far do the boys travel to compete? It's not for the faint of heart.

– Dillon adds: Usually about 2 hours for most meets. Was nice to be able to host this one, we even won it which was cool.... Monday will be just under 3 hours away (10 am tee off). To qualify for state we play what they call a "super region" where 2 regions combine, that will be played at Bully Pulpit (legit course, supposedly makes national lists, never broke 90 there myself). That will be a little over 3 hours to get there... Also, not sure if its normal to put distance into time measurements, but 100% the only way we compare distances, no clue mileage.

Kinsey: I looked it up. Dillon and the team will travel approximately 220 miles one-way to play at Bully Pulpit. That's like me and the text group driving up to northern Michigan, getting out of the car and playing a meat grinder of a course. Good luck, boys.

Great Americans are stepping up to Make Rec Ball Great Again

Last night, Millennial Chris B. in Bowling Green had to make a 35-minute drive for a 7 p.m. first pitch and then proceeds to see his 10U travel ball team get run-ruled in four innings. The Millennial didn't get home until around 9:30 p.m. This morning, he's back to work digging holes for gas lines and busting his ass. It's time to MAKE REC BALL GREAT AGAIN. Kids under 13 shouldn't have to make such trips on a Thursday night.

Do you wash your Q-zips after every wear?

– Chris A. says you're insane if you don't: I have a five-day outfit rotation for my office work, with five pairs of pants and five 1/4 zips during the cooler months and about 15-20 polos. The polos and 1/4 zips get washed after every wear, and the pants get a wash after 8-10 wears unless I splash something on them. I can't see not washing 1/4 zips after every wear. Your pits don't just sweat onto your shirt, they bleed through to the next layer as well.

As for DoorDash, count me among those who have never had food delivered to their house. Never. I don't want to hear another G__D___ word from anyone pissing and moaning about how tight their money situation is, they can't pay off their student loans, their electric bills are too high, and yet they blow hundreds each month getting Starbucks delivered to them when they get a hankering. Just STFU. The problem is, these are the same clowns who will cry about how they don't have money saved up for retirement, and now we'll have to bail them out. Boo-freakin'-hoo.

– Tyler V. checks in: Cigarette smoking is becoming less and less nowadays. I'd date a pouch user in my single days because I see it as a new variation of the old adage, "if she smokes she pokes." I wouldn't date a dipper though.

Rob writes: Just a few thoughts since the site changed its look. To be honest, I’m really having to adjust to the look of the new site, it just feels different. I’m pretty sure it’s me, I’m old and still love the old Blog form, but I will improvise, adapt and overcome ( shout out to Gunny Highway).

Natalie Decker- She sure is fun to look at, but she couldn’t drive a nail in with a hammer. I get it, she’s hot, makes for some great promo pics, but she is a train wreck behind the wheel. Go ahead Nascar, do whatever you have to do to get some more eyeballs on your product, but here is an idea, I’ll give you this one for free, someone over there get a pen and paper. Put a better race on, get rid of the awful looking cars, go back to the Manufacturer wars. You don’t think the Big three want to showcase their product? Drop some of the races on tracks no one gives a damn about and showcase the old school tracks, Bristol, Talladega and Daytona get three races a season. Try and get your fanbase back, the ones that got you where you are, or at least where you were, because right now the product is unwatchable. Oh, stop jamming Bubba Wallace down our throats, I’d rather watch Natalie than him.

– David takes us home this week: Your email from Doug in Mason inspired me to write. My stepdaughter came into my life when she was 6 months old. At about 18 months she was diagnosed with a chromosomal disorder that severely impacted her cognitive development, though fortunately she didn’t have any physical issues from it — she’s been mostly healthy as a horse.

Each day for the first years of her life were a struggle — not for any other reason other than just to trying to keep her safe. She loved climbing, running away, and had no fear. We had hoped she would eventually be able to talk, but even now (she’s 27) she can just say 1-2 word sentences.

On the plus side, when she was 6 she figured it out and got potty trained, and let me tell you that was one of the happiest days of our lives! Changing the dump on a 6-year old was about as unpleasant as you can imagine. She also started going to school in a self-enclosed classroom at that point and we were able to finally coast for a few years. We were a bit worried about puberty, but fortunately that wasn’t too bad.

She managed to thrive through high school, but — like in most places — once she turned 21 the state cut her loose and we were on are own again.She’s happy and pretty well adjusted but pretty much still a 3 year old. It is like being with an eternal child and though there’s a sadness associated with that, there’s still some sweetly poignant things as well. Birthdays and Christmas never get old for her. When we can do it, a trip to Disneyland is the highlight of her year.

And then two years ago I got cancer. The only thing I cried about when I was diagnosed was that the 20 years or so more I thought I had to take care of her were gone. I have to cast her to the whims of society before I’m ready. I don’t know if it will make much difference, but please ask the world to take of her when I’m gone.

Let's get Thursday Screencaps cranking with the latest DoorDash financial numbers that continue to boggle my mind. Americans, in huge numbers, are showing absolutely no sign of weakness when it comes to having some random person deliver Olive Garden to their apartment doors.

In January, the New York Times ran a story where they profiled a couple that spends $700 a week to order food delivery. "I am so burned out and tired, I would rather just throw my credit card at the problem and delay that unhappiness until the bill comes," the guy said. The Times noted that this guy's son can't read, but he can "put together an order" on the Chick-fil-A app. "I am impressed, but I am also terrified," the dad noted.

What the hell are we doing? Are we really this lazy? I have heard from the salesmen who are on the road and just want food delivered to their hotels so they don't have to go to restaurants. I get it. Maybe you broke both of your legs in a skiing accident and you are craving Texas Roadhouse that's been sitting in some dope smoker's car for 25 minutes. I get it. Not really, but I understand you're in a tough spot.

Folks, we are trending towards 1 BILLION orders being delivered by DoorDash in the next quarter. Look at that incredible jump from Q3 2025 to Q4 2025. No way it could go higher, right? Wrong. When America is put to a challenge, we step up and DOMINATE.

College graduations: 2026

– Mike N. in Texas shares: Our oldest son just graduated in the 150th class of Texas A&M. The ceremony opened with the National Anthem and then a prayer. God Bless Texas A&M, God Bless the USA. Here’s to the greatest column in the land!

Readers react to Doug in Mason's story about caring for a son with cerebral palsy

– Legacy Screencaps reader Sean K. wanted to say: Just wanted to pass along big props to Doug and his wife for the long-term care they've given their son Joey. I know a few people who have so dedicated their lives this way to their special needs children and/or other family members and they have told me the same; the light that comes on in their loved one's eyes is what makes it all worth it.

His email reminded me of a news clip from years ago where a newly graduated Marine in dress blues visited his sister at their high school gym who had cerebral palsy. She was so excited to see him she nearly fell out of her wheelchair. (Wish I could find that clip). You could just feel the love she had for him and he for her through the TV screen.

Best to them and keep it up. Still getting used to the new 'Fox' format but the content is 100% the same. And I read it every day to keep sane. Thanks as always for what you do.

– Jon in Iowa was stopped in his tracks by Doug's story: Had to respond after reading this morning’s Screencaps. Doug’s story choked me up. I did not have to deal with such hard things with my children and I can’t imagine what he and his family went through. I do know that people like Doug and family are what you called the backbone of this country.

I don’t want to make this about me, but I am just starting to deal with something with my wife. Not going into details, but I know what is ahead. So far I can still get out to go golfing and she can still get on the plane couple times a year to get to Arizona for the winter. Doug needs to know he is an inspiration. I know that we are very fortunate to have had the lives we’ve had.

Doug’s life made me think about people in this video. Imagine how pathetic your life is that you would act like this with your wife and daughter. Have people like this ever done anything that was hard. Or dealt with any kind of adversity. Doubt it.

Thankfully half the country still believes in the values that made us great. Have to keep believing in that half to prevail. Thanks for your story Doug.

Did Marty overreact?

– Marty in Idaho emails: About 7 AM Monday while I’m waiting for Screencaps to publish, an unknown car pulls into my rural Idaho driveway. My daughter and 7 month old grandson are in the kitchen with me. I step outside toward the car and the unknown driver gets out of the car and says, "I need help". He’s young (30?), doesn’t seem to be in distress and his car seems fine. He goes on to say that he found a dog wandering on the road so he stopped and put it in his car which I have no way to confirm (so he pulls into a random driveway with a 90ish pound husky in his passenger seat with no collar?).

None of this seems right to me. I look at the dog and don’t recognize it so I’m expecting the guy to get back in his car and drive away. About this time my daughter walks out and suggests I take a photo of the dog and send it to our neighbor text group. Good idea assuming everything is legit. The guy says he’s going to be late for work and wants me to take the dog.

That’s a no go for me (for all I know it’s his dog) but my daughter speaks up and says she’ll take it. I am not happy with my daughter at this point who insists we take this enormous dog (apparently I was rude to this guy). She gets the dog out of the car and I immediately take it to animal rescue. While waiting at animal rescue I text the photo and one of the neighbors thinks the dog might belong to a guy about a mile away from our house. I take the dog there and it is his; happy ending.I’ve been berated by my daughter and my wife (who was sleeping) for overreacting and being rude for two days now.

I explain that when the situation looks off, your guard should be up. This time it turned out OK but what if this guy had other intentions (or just wanted to get rid of his dog)? Did I overreact in this situation?

The end of the track season for Screencaps Jr.

– Gerard puts things into perspective for me: Track meets can be long cold and windy but those 4.5 hours are way less time consuming and expensive compared to any travel sport. Be grateful he is in track and not travel baseball or basketball!! You will have every weekend free and will be able to afford real vacations. He may even be fast enough to get preferred admission into the college of his choice down the road……..

– Brandon from N. Kentucky writes: I could not agree with your mom about the length of these track meets. We encouraged our daughter to do something other than competition dance (that’s another racket). She is doing track because her friends are. I had never been to a track meet before her 1st one in march. We were told to be there by 4pm. She had ONE event and it didn’t go off until 930pm. Thankfully it was a Friday but last week was more of the same. She was in 3 events, got there by 3:45pm, and her first event didn’t go off until 7:20pm on a Wednesday night!!! She was done early I might add. This is to much on a school night.

– Chris A. also adds some life perspective: I hear you about track meets. I ran track (sprints and long jump) for a CYO team from 12-15 years old, and it was all day Saturday meets in April and May. 8 hours minimum. My parents maybe went to one or two meets during that four years, and I couldn't blame them. So many events, so many age groups. At least the long distance events were one heat, but with four age groups times two genders, that's an hour right there. Brutal if you aren't participating.

How about the sub-2 hour marathons run in London a couple of weeks ago? You said your son's best mile time is 5:40 (so far). My best, and only, timed mile was 5:20 when I was 15. These guys are running 4:35 miles for 26+ miles! 64-second quarter miles, 108 of them in a row! I can't fathom that. Don't care if it's the shoes, someone's feet still have to be in them. That's right up there with breaking the 4 minute mile barrier.

Kinsey: I don't have the numbers in front of me, but Screencaps Jr.'s PR is somewhere in the mid-5:30s right now. I'm thinking 5:36. He's 13. Google says that's pretty good at that age. You know what? He's eating well, running good times, packing on muscle, can handle himself in a room full of people and has been ordering his own meals at restaurants for years. Mrs. Screencaps and I count our blessings. Trust me.

And with that, we're ready to go for another day of life. The sun is as bright as it has been this spring. I plan on taking a quick stroll through the yard with Mrs. Screencaps at lunch. We need to build a plan of attack for Mother's Day weekend. Projects need completed.

But, first, let's go put in a day of work. Go get after it.

NASCAR's viral star Natalie Decker has a new nicotine pouch deal and truck to drive, Topanga turns 45 & more

Two weeks after finding a ride for the Talladega O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race, TikTok and Instagram star Natalie Decker broke news Tuesday that she's found a truck to drive for this upcoming weekend's truck race at Watkins Glen. This will be the first time since 2020 that she's raced in the truck series.

Add in a new nicotine pouch deal that Decker, 28, promoted on Monday and it's turning into a massive moment for one of the most recognizable female names in racing. Oh, and she found a Maryland-based bagel and brunch restaurant to sponsor her ride in Watkins Glen and at Dover on May 15.

Just when it looked like Decker's 15 minutes of fame were over in racing, she's BACK. After completing her two-race deal with the bagel shop, Decker will have raced four times this year, which is the most action she's seen behind the wheel since 2021.

Quick hitters of things that are on my mind this morning

• Be honest, do you find yourself slipping and turning on Screamin' A. Smith to see what he has to say on a topic? I get that Screencaps readers aren't the targeted demo outside of anything Mike Greenberg appears on, but, still, it feels like ESPN would be MTV if it didn't have football.

• My Reds are in big trouble. They went on the road against the NL Central and have now lost five straight, the closer is out with a torn hamstring and the bats have quieted down. If there's anything positive to report, it's that they're still four games over .500 and the Astros (6-13 on the road) are coming to town over Mother's Day weekend.

• Did you guys see we're closing in on a 24-team CFB playoff? I don't know where this all goes other than the destruction of mid-majors because I can guarantee you they WILL NOT be invited to a made-for-TV playoff where ratings are on the line. We're heading for two conferences – B1G & SEC – and NFL-like programming where you'll have Michigan playing Alabama in the middle of the season or Ohio State on the road to Ole Miss on October 28. SEC teams will still play SEC teams, but there will be cross-overs. It's coming guys. The TV dollars would be too high for these schools to pass up.

• I think the track season ends tonight. Thank God. I really enjoy watching Screencaps Jr. and his buddies compete, but there are something like 200 kids on his school's boys and girls teams. These meets are taking 4 to 4 1/2 hours. I'm not kidding. Monday night, the event started at 4:30 and ended after 8:30 and we had a 40-minute drive home. Give me cross country season over this hell that I'm living.

ARE PEOPLE WHO PARK ON STREETS FACING THE WRONG WAY THE WORST PEOPLE ON EARTH?

E-bikes and Costner movies

– Chris W. in California writes: Reading your article about e-bikes brought to mind two recent events that have been in the news here in the land of the overtaxed involving e-bikes and the like, both of which give me at least a small glimmer of hope for this Godforsaken state.

The first involves an idiot teen that killed a Vietnam vet while doing dumb shit on a way overpowered e-bike. Apparently the teen and the mother who allowed him to operate the bike had been warned in the past and as such the Orange County D.A. is coming down hard on both of them, throwing everything possible in the book at not only the teen but most importantly the mother, holding her responsible for her son's negligence.

The second involves a bike, motorcycle, ATV (?) takeover of the Bay Bridge up North. The CHP and local PDs became aware of what was going on and closed off both ends of the bridge effectively trapping all the dumbasses. A bunch of them ran off, a few of them tried to jump in the water and all of the vehicles were confiscated and impounded.

It's wonderful to see some law and order meted out! Since the first incident took place in Orange County, where they tend to actually try to enforce the law the D.A.'s actions aren't as surprising, but the fact that law enforcement was actually able to do their job up in the area that Newscum drove into the ground before he started doing the same to the state offers the smallest bit of light in the eternal darkness that idiot has cast across the Golden State.

Also, a few days ago one of your readers chimed in with his top 5 Kevin Costner movies. I'm surprised this didn't cause more discourse. Here's my take:

Silverado (Costner is super young and has this batshit crazy energy, plus this is one of the best Western's of all time.)

Screencaps reader retires from his job, but his role of being a dad will never end

– Doug in Mason shares his story: First time, long time. I found Outkick at the beginning of the PLANdemic as I was sick and tired of the woke bs on ESPN. Been a fan ever since. SC is a daily must. You gave me something to look forward to at lunch when I was working my 8-5 job. I have been retired for about a month after working 32 years at a lighting manufacturer and it continues to be a must read. And no, I am not bored! Far from it and that's why I'm writing.

Regarding Do Hard Things, not sure if I have seen this subject come up, but I was wondering if there are any fellow SC'ers who are caretakers for their special needs sons or daughters? My wife had twins (boy/girl) in 2004, and they were delivered 3 months premature. Olivia had a few minor issues and was in the NICU for about 2 months. Today she is a happy, healthy college graduate (Go Bearcats!) and will be a high school teacher in the fall. (Our oldest son is in medical school at OSU). But Joey wasn't so lucky. He had a LOT of issues and was in the NICU for 5 months. With help from some doctor errors (won't bore you with the long story), Joey was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and does not walk or talk and is confined to a wheelchair. Our entire life turned upside down.

My wife and I have been his 24/7 caretakers for 22 years now. My wife could be an RN at this point. She is the CEO of Joey. Taking care of him is not for the faint of heart. But through the blood, sweat and (many) tears, he is a survivor---and so are we! There are no off days. When we're sick--too bad---we still have Joey to take care of. He loves TV and has his favorite animated shows he watches daily. But our saving grace is that he loves watching football. Notre Dame on Saturdays and Bengals on Sundays. But really, his face lights up when ANY football game is on. On Football Saturdays it's GameDay and Big Noon Kickoff. He will watch the Combine and the Draft from beginning to end. Wish he was a Reds fan like his dad, but for some reason, he grunts when I turn baseball on and wants me to change the channel!

NFL'S PUSH FOR GROWTH IS INEXORABLE AT EXPENSE OF FANS AND AMID AN 'EXISTENTIAL THREAT'

Now that I'm retired, Joe and I go on daily walks and I take him on my trips to Costco, Kroger and wherever the day takes us. We go to family parties and weddings but it's a challenge. My wife works from home so having me home is a huge burden lifted off her shoulders. We have taken Joe with us on our annual vacations, but now it's getting to be too much as we age so we need to start looking at respite care facilities. The point of this long gospel---being a caretaker is the epitome of 'doing hard things.' IYKYK. But I can't stress this enough-- the smile on Joey's face when I walk through the door is worth all the drama. Can't imagine life without him. So--are there other SC fans out there who are in similar situations?

Kinsey: I cannot stress enough how grounding this column can be for me. Working on the Internet can be a very odd place where there are days people will scream at me over and over and over via email and then along comes a message like this from Doug.

It resets my brain to remember that there's a real world out there where people are dealing with bigger issues than I've ever had to deal with. There are people with real struggles who have to get out of bed every single day to handle what Doug and his wife tackle.

NBA championship question

– Jase wants to know: Of the teams that are left, who do you like to play for and win the NBA Championship?

Kinsey: If you remember, I'm on record saying how much I respect the way the Detroit Pistons play the game. I think it was November when I wrote about the topic. But, that said, I have a very long-standing tradition of NOT watching the NBA until mid-May. It's not mid-May, so I haven't watched more than 5-10 minutes of the playoffs and that was pretty much on accident when I hit the wrong YouTube TV button. Give me the Pistons.

Let's get this Tuesday edition of Screencaps rolling with news from a legend who has graced this column hundreds of times over the past 15 years. I'll be the first to admit that I thought there was no way Elizabeth Hurley would last through the winter with Billy Ray Cyrus, but here we are with Hurley, 60, revealing she's now farming in Tennessee. Guys, this could be the end of an era. This could be Hurley announcing she's done with the bikini game without formally announcing it.

This could be like the old days when ball players transitioned to player-coaches. This could be Hurley telling us she's winding down a career that has spanned five decades. Instead of new two-piece bikini content, we've seen more and more of Liz holding goats, turtles and wearing denim.

What's the problem with Hurley pivoting to farming content? Nothing. It's just that there are so few models out there who can take her place in pop culture. Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara come to mind as replacements. Outside of those two, it's slim pickings. Google Gemini says Gwyneth Paltrow is a possible replacement.

And that's why you should use AI as a resource, not a source. Paltrow? Have you ever wanted to see her model a two-piece bikini? Neither have I.

How I turned into a Big J journalist on Monday & ended up on the phone with a Mississippi sheriff who was a straight shooter

Over the weekend, we had two big incidents where youth baseball coaches fought with umpires, but none bigger than the incident in Mississippi where a coach and umpire traded punches. It turns out that the coach in the middle of the brawl was a sheriff's deputy.

Being an OutKick/Fox Big J, I got on the phone and called the Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office for comment. The deputy who answered the phone told me leadership was at lunch and they'd call me back. Typically, that's code for they're not calling back.

At 2:54 p.m. ET, I got a call from Starkville. I assumed it was a public information officer calling back. The guy on the other line proceeds to tell me his name, Shank Phelps. I'll be damned, it's the actual sheriff giving me a call.

Then, as we're talking, Sheriff Shank proceeds to just reveal that the deputy in question has been fired. Shank fired the guy without further investigation by the department. Axed him. No more internal investigation. Gone.

Shank Phelps made a big impression on me for this one. The guy didn't make me beat around the bush. He got down to business. I respect that big time.

Guess who was first to report that the baseball coach had been fired? Yep, me. Thanks, Shank.

I've about had it with e-bike and scooter gangs

Do you guys remember last summer when readers were sharing stories of e-bike gangs tearing up golf courses and causing havoc in neighborhoods? Here we go again. This time, the gang tore up a Florida golf course to the tune of $3,000 in damage.

We've even reached the stage where there are now e-bike police chases in California. NBC San Diego reported last week that cops got into a 50-mph chase with a 19-year-old who refused to stop his electric dirt bike.

– MP in Staunton, Virginia says: Joe, haven’t written in a while and am adjusting to the new format. That said, reading about the North Dakota guy driving to the bar on his lawnmower reminds me of a story involving classic country music star George Jones. George had a legendary drinking problem and his then wife (country star Tammy Wynette) forbade him from leaving the house to go to the bar. However, the Ol’ Possum got on his John Deere lawnmower and drove it to the bar to have a few. There is a reference to this in the Vince Gill song "One More Last Chance " . All I can say is keep on keeping on!

Spring is starting to give way to the 90s and pool season has been in full swing. Your advice to younger home buyers on "patio life" is spot on. We spent the last 9 months getting the backyard right. Labor of love I guess. Today was pool ops and Yacht Rock. Now it’s Tri-Tip grilling and cold Kirtlands jamming to some Whiskey Myers.

Head to NC tomorrow for a few days of golf with old Green Beret buddies..guaranteed good times. Might be a whiskey front blowing thru.

This is EXACTLY why I busted my ass for all these years. Life is short and if you don’t grab it by the balls you’re gonna be regretting not doing so when it’s time to kick back and jam to what you want. Put in the effort…it’s always worth it.

It's good to hear from our friends in far northern North Dakota

Kinsey: It's been 22 years since I've been in this area of the country. It's beyond time to get back. I've told Mrs. Screencaps for years that I have to take her on a drive down the 101 and just hit small towns like Seaside and Cannon Beach. The other spot that absolutely love visiting is Cape Disappointment just to imagine the boat captains navigating those waters into Columbia River.

After dropping my lawn down to 2 1/2 inches last night, I asked the text group if it's worth it to buy a striping kit. Boy, oh boy, things got emotional in a matter of seconds. Diesel told me to just buy the kit. My yard would pop, he said. That's when Millennial Chris B. in Bowling Green check in & was instantly HEATED at Diesel for using a striping kit instead of just knowing how to mow a yard.

My head is spinning at how dumb this all sounds

Kinsey: Let me make this as simple as possible. A vast majority of the parents who blow thousands on travel sports (let's focus on baseball) are doing it so their kids don't have to play with the kid who can't catch a baseball. The families do not want to see weak, inferior in their community. I have yet to come across parents who have told me this is all about college entrance arbitrage. So dumb.

– Eddie from Acworth tells us: Wanted to weigh in on travel ball from a true outsider’s perspective. My wife and I have three grown boys, so our days of sitting in the stands are long behind us. But she’s the head PE teacher at our local elementary school, and a bunch of her kids are always begging her to come watch their games.Saturday one of her favorites was playing, so I tagged along (perfect weather, nothing good on TV—how could I say no?).

We pulled into the massive complex in East Cobb, Ga (look it up-East Cobb is a baseball factory).She told me to grab the closest lot… which turned out to be completely full. So we ended up in the overflow lot across the street. $10 to park.Then we walked to the gated entrance: $12 per person.The place itself is unbelievable—20 turf fields, beautiful covered stands on an incline, and top-tier concessions. But when we got to our field, the scoreboard was blank. I assumed it was broken.

Nope. You have to download their app and pay another $12 just to see the score and stats. By the time we sat down, we were out $46 just to watch one game—plus a 30-minute drive each way. And that was just for the two of us supporting one kid. The boy we went to see had another game two hours later.

These families basically live at the park.I honestly don’t know how travel-ball parents do it. It’s absolutely insane. That said, the kid we watched had a walk, a hit, and an RBI in a 10-0 win. He was beaming ear-to-ear when it was over, so there’s that. You guys are nuts!!

The state of tipping in 2026

When my wife and I go out and I wear jeans and a 1/4 zip, when we get home I put both back in the closet for the next time. My wife throws everything she wore in the dirty clothes basket and she thinks what I do is "gross". I think wearing something one time (not talking about under clothes or a sweaty golf shirt) and throwing it in the wash is a bit much.

So, my question - who is right?

Kinsey: You're right on this one, Don. As long as you're not sweating like a pig through the clothes, the Q-zip isn't disgusting. It's all about the circumstances. I like to think Screencaps readers have some sense and can tell when it's time for a piece of clothing to head to the washing machine.

Welcome to the first Sunday in May, which means we're about to turn the corner to my favorite time of year. That's, of course, summer. What's not to love about the warmer weather and the sunshine?

We're talking beaches, bikinis and baseball. Before we dive into this week's Sunday Screencaps I want to go ahead and warn you, it's an email-heavy one. Not because I intended it to be. I had a couple of things set aside to get into that I'm just not going to have time to get to.

It's only my second week putting Screencaps together on the new platform and I decided that since the emails were there and they had pictures that I would dive into that whole process to get an idea of how long it takes to get those uploaded.

It's a process. It takes time and I'm going to have to work through it. That said, if you sent something in and I didn’t get to it, I will next Sunday. Keep the emails and your meat coming. We'll figure it out.

Paige Spiranac shows the Kentucky Derby some love

It was a busy weekend with the Kentucky Derby, the Miami Grand Prix and the Boston Celtics blowing a 3-1 leadthe Miami Grand Prix, and the Boston Celtics blowing a 3-1 lead to the Philadelphia 76ers, which you really hate to see.

The Red Sox stink, the Patriots lost the Super Bowl and then all the Mike Vrabel drama that has been swirling. Not to mention the fact that the Bruins were just sent packing in the first round of the NHL playoffs.

Boston is down right now, and again, you really hate to see it.

Enough about Boston and their professional sports taking a slide back into the darkness where they belong. Let's move on. We have Paige Spiranac dropping a throwback to get to.

When it comes to the Kentucky Derby, other than Jordon Hudson grabbing some of the spotlight at the Kentucky Oaks, it was relatively quiet this year. Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and his girlfriend Marissa Ayers were popping up on my timeline every time I turned around, but nobody put on a performance like the one Paige Spiranac did when she attended the event. Not many do.

She wasn't in attendance at the event this year, but reminded everyone that she loves it and hopes to go back in the future. She also took the opportunity to remind everyone of what she wore when she did attend. It's an outfit that belongs in the Kentucky Derby hall of fame.

Florida In-State Weekend Trip

Great work on today’s Screencaps! In typical Floridian fashion, we went to another part of Florida for a weekend getaway. While we live in greater West Palm Beach, we love going to Southwest Florida, mostly Bonita Springs and Fort Myers Beach, but also Naples, Sanibel Island, and Captiva Island. We went to Naples and stayed at the mini Margaritaville hotel called Compass. Lots of travel ball soccer families, though. I think this happens every year and late April, they do giant soccer tournament. Although it’s travel, at least it’s a local because everybody was from somewhere in Florida. And not further than three hours away from what I understand. Make Rec Ball Great Again!

Had a great time in downtown Bonita last night, watching a local country singer from Miami named Gabriel Key (he got the crowd going), along with some tasty drinks. As you can see by my old-fashioned and my wife’s espresso martini, we are drinking arguably the most popular drinks for men and women in America. I contend the dudes and dudettes drinking IPAs eight years ago, the really fancy ones, are now bourbon bros as Joe likes to call him. I’m a wannabe bourbon bro.

Howdy SeanJo! Montana Tim checking in. I hope you and all the folks in OutKick land are doing well and are getting ready for a great summer! We have a big Birthday celebration coming up in July! After a very cold and wet spring, it’s finally starting to warm up a bit! Gonna be in the 70’s this weekend. Spring is in full bloom and that can mean only one thing…..it’s smoker time! Hog Heaven if you please. We started things off with some hog chops….theys was right tasty. Then it was rib time!

Montana Survival Food!

Hog ribs is hard to beat! These came out really well. Theys had a nice smoke ring on them and ended up nice and juicy! Folks, if you don’t over cook them you will never have to use BBQ sauce to choke’m down! (If anyone out there is starting smoking ribs for the first time, pull them between 193-200* and you’ll be good to go!) These are the first of many racks this year. And don’t forget about the dessert! Ya just gotta have it!

A Little Bit Of Heaven!

The Belizean brownies were so good the last time, I decided they could make a second appearance on the dessert table! Last time it was a huckleberry compote. This time I made a blackberry and raspberry sauce to top them with! They both worked out well! I’m wishing everyone a memorable summer and keep on smokin’!
