Kirk Cousins declares the Raiders' uniforms the 'best jerseys in pro sports'

New Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins made a major proclamation about which franchise had the best jerseys in the game.

Cousins, who played on a few teams with nifty threads, told the team’s website that it’s Las Vegas that has the best in all sports.

"Best jerseys in pro sports I think," Cousins said. "I remember being in warm-ups once playing the Raiders and our head coach looked at me and said, 'Those have to be the best jerseys that they are in pro sports.' And I said, 'You know what, Coach, I have to agree. Those are really sharp.'"

Cousins probably wouldn’t want to ruffle the feathers of the franchise he just signed a long-term deal with. The two sides agreed on a five-year deal, reportedly worth $172 million. He will likely be seen as a mentor should the team decide to select Francisco Mendoza with the No. 1 pick of the 2026 NFL Draft later this month.

The veteran quarterback may believe the Raiders’ jerseys look "really sharp," but the Atlanta Falcons uniforms weren’t so bad either when he was playing in them.

GQ Magazine compiled a list of the 31 best uniforms since 2000. The Raiders’ jerseys were not among the ones on the list.

The outlet, in terms of NFL teams, gave the nod to the Philadelphia Eagles' alternate black jerseys, the Baltimore Ravens’ alternate black jerseys and the Los Angeles Chargers’ powder blue home jerseys.

Kylie Kelce, who is married to Travis' brother, Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, begged people on her latest "Not Gonna Lie" podcast to "stop f---ing asking" her and her mother-in-law about the upcoming nuptials.

Kelce then implored those who continued to ask to "suck my a--."

While their exact timeline is unclear, Swift was first spotted at a Kansas City Chiefs game Sept. 24, 2023. She revealed in an interview with Time magazine that they actually began dating long before she appeared in the stands.

In July 2023, Kelce joked on his "New Heights" podcast that he missed the opportunity to give Swift a friendship bracelet in person when The Eras Tour rolled through Kansas City.

The two then announced their engagement in August after Swift appeared at numerous games, including a Super Bowl, and Kelce attended, and even was on stage for, Swift's Eras Tour concerts.

Kelce announced earlier this offseason he would be returning to the Chiefs for a 14th NFL season.

Tush push not In NFL crosshairs for 2026 but Eagles coach Nick Sirianni knows no promises beyond that

PHOENIX – The Tush Push witch hunt that made last year's NFL annual meeting about terse exchanges among NFL royalty, showed how duplicitous the NFL office can be when it wants, and had multiple NFL people admit that if you can't beat ‘em, get them banned, is not a thing at this year’s meeting.

This year’s NFL owners meetings began here on Sunday and the Tush Push is not on the agenda, won't be debated and is not on anybody´s lips, and that includes Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni.

Sirianni, who privately feels a strong connection to the play, is publicly being guarded about predicting the play is clear of renewed future scrutiny.

"I don't know, you take one step at a time," Sirianni said Monday morning. "It's not something I have to think about right now. So, I guess I don't really have a lot of thoughts on that. We'll play by the rules of whatever we need to be able to do in every aspect."

McKay: People Still Concerned About Tush Push

So the league is in quite a different place than it was one year ago when the Green Bay Packers proposed the play be banned, then the NFL office surreptitiously worked to make that happen, and practically every team in the NFC that knew if had to defend against the play on the field used its off-the-field vote to ban the Eagles' signature play.

But this year, well, nothing. The Tush Push lives and perhaps the debate about the play is over.

"I don't know that it's the end of the debate, because I think there's still people that are concerned with the whole pushing element," NFL Competition Committee co-Chairman Rich McKay said. "But I would say to you that, just like last year I told you – there was no Competition Committee proposal last year on the Tush Push, there was no proposal the year before on that.

"And over the years, we've now seen that the Tush Push is going down. The percentage of, or I should say the number of plays it's being used on, is going down. The success rate on the traditional sneak is above the Tush Push success rate. So, I just think there's less talk about it within the football community, and there was no proposal on the table to put anything in this year to deal with that."

This, of course, is one explanation why the Tush Push isn't a big deal this year. But it's a snapshot from an instamatic (look it up, Gen Z) rather than a portrait.

Landscape Has Changed On Tush Push

And to fill in the extra pixels, one must understand that while it is true the Competition Committee made no proposal on the play last year, McKay was against it and the committee ultimately favored banning the play.

League officials all the way on up to perhaps even commissioner Roger Goodell preferred that the Tush Push be banned. Goodell consistently mentioned his health and safety concerns regarding the play despite there being no health and safety data to present as evidence.

There are another couple of reasons the Tush Push lives on.

Sean McDermott is gone as the coach of the Buffalo Bills and he – and his team by extension – were an ardent opponent of the Tush Push last year. The Bills were one of only two AFC teams that voted to effectively ban the Tush Push – and then used the Tush Push in their offensive repertoire during the season.

The Green Bay Packers are still around. But club president Mark Murphy, who spearheaded that team's effort to get the Tush Push banned, retired. So another net-plus for the Tush Push.

We should recall that about half the NFL was prepared to vote in favor of banning the Tush Push at last year's annual meeting. But that didn't reach the three-fourth plateau the measure needed.

So the NFL, whipping votes beforehand, decided to avoid defeat by never taking the vote. The vote was tabled during those meetings at the end of March and the issue was pushed to another league meeting in May.

NFL Effort Against Fell Short

In past years, pushing issues to the next meeting had been a tool the NFL used to win the day because the May meeting allowed league personnel to lobby owners in favor of their measures, knowing coaches and general managers would not attend that next meeting.

The proposal in May still fell two votes short, 22-10 in favor of a ban. Only one NFC team, aside from the Eagles, voted to keep the play:

The Detroit Lions.

While the initial proposal from the Packers focused on player safety, McKay later admitted that the discussion in the room in Palm Beach ventured away from player safety into aesthetics.

It’s worth noting the Eagles were not as successful with the play last season. In their 2024 Super Bowl season, the Eagles converted over 81 percent of the time on the Tush Push. That percentage sank to 63.6 percent in 2025.

Suddenly, all those NFC teams that hated the play last spring because it was such a huge headache in 2024 don't feel quite so motivated to get rid of it now.

He finished his career with just under 5,000 receiving yards and 31 touchdowns. Thomas signed with the Eagles in 1996 and left after the 2005 season, two years before Celek joined the franchise.

It has been just about a year since Kylie Kelce, the wife of future Pro Football Hall of Famer Jason, became a mother of four.

Kelce has discussed the trials and tribulations of motherhood before, and her latest episode was more of the same, as she shared the "dos and don'ts" of talking to postpartum women.

"First up, gotta start with the good old-fashioned don't. Number one, don't ask her if she's back to her pre-baby weight yet. Better yet, don't ask her about her weight at all," Kelce began on her "Not Gonna Lie" podcast.

"Pre-baby weight Kylie? Pre-baby Kylie? Let me say that again. Pre-baby body of Kylie? I don't know her. She doesn't live here. My body built a whole a-- human being, OK? And you're going to look at me and tell me I'm supposed to get back to pre-baby weight? OK."

Kelce implored her viewers to ask postpartum mothers how they are feeling, but not "when the next baby is going to be on the way."

"Oh, I'm so serious. And I'll speak for myself here. Don't you dare ask if we're going to give it one more try for a boy. I swear to God. I swear to God. Don't ask me that. Also, let's just put this into perspective. If you look at me and you say, No. 1, 'Are you gonna have another one?' Or No. 2, 'Are you going to try for a boy?' You are looking at a woman who has had four children in what was it, six years? How are you going to look at a woman who has had four children and be like, 'Are you going to have another one soon? Are you going to try for a boy?' So suck my a--."

Kelce's other off-limits question was whether mothers were worried if their baby hasn't reached certain milestones by their first birthday.

"Ladies, if you are still losing sleep or letting milestones of children rule your thoughts, I'ma need you to cut that out immediately. I need you to cut it out now. Four children later, the one thing I can tell you I've learned that I've told you a million times, they're all different… If your kids are having delays and/or are not meeting the thresholds, that's OK, too."

Kelce said one of her children was an "early talker," while another did not truly speak until she was roughly 18 months old.

Eagles acquire veteran quarterback Andy Dalton from Panthers with backup role in sight

The Philadelphia Eagles made an interesting trade to bring in a backup for starting quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles acquired veteran quarterback Andy Dalton from the Carolina Panthers in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick, according to multiple reports.

The 38-year-old signal-caller spent the past three seasons with the Panthers, where he mostly served as a backup to Bryce Young, the first overall selection of the 2023 NFL Draft.

But he did take over in 2024 as the team’s starter after first-year head coach Dave Canales didn’t like what he saw out of Young to start the year. Dalton started five games for the Panthers, going 1-4 in that stretch before Young’s return.

Dalton was a starter for nine seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, going 70-61-2 over that span with four straight playoff berths from 2011-14. Unfortunately for Dalton and the Bengals, they were never able to pick up a postseason victory.

After the 2019 season, the Bengals shifted away from Dalton after they drafted Joe Burrow first overall during the 2020 NFL Draft. Dalton was in and out of a starting role in Dallas and with the Chicago Bears in the 2021 season.

He assumed the role full-time with the New Orleans Saints in 2022, going 6-8 over 14 starts before ultimately joining Carolina.

It’s an interesting move for the Eagles considering Tanner McKee, who has played well during the preseason, was Hurts’ backup all last season. While this could be competition for McKee entering training camp, Dalton continues to play with the idea of being on a roster full-time, even if he’s not the starter.

The Panthers signed Kenny Pickett, a former Eagles quarterback, this offseason. As a result, Dalton was expendable.

The Eagles head into the 2026 season with the obvious hope that Hurts is healthy enough for a full 17-game slate and then some. However, he didn’t have the best season under offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, who caught flak from the rabid fan base as the team struggled.

Philadelphia finished 11-6 before losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round at home. Patullo was fired days later, and the Eagles hired ex-Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion to take over the role.

Former NFL running back Boston Scott calls it quits at 30, reveals feelings of 'anger, bitterness'

Boston Scott defied the NFL odds.

After playing in a mid-major conference at Louisiana Tech, the 5-foot-6 running back made the leap to pro football when the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Scott rushed for 1,295 yards over six seasons with the Eagles and became known as the "Giants Killer," a nod to his heroics when Philadelphia faced its division rival, the New York Giants.

On Wednesday, Scott announced he was stepping away from the league. In the announcement, the 30-year-old admitted his decision came with mixed feelings.

"There is so much I’m proud of," Scott wrote in a statement shared on his social media accounts.

"I don’t feel sorry for myself in the slightest. There is anger, bitterness, but also joy, and happiness.. plenty of things to feel . But even if you work your hardest to accomplish something and fall short, why can’t the next thing that you invest in do great things? There’s joy in that too."

Scott’s retirement comes three years after his last regular-season NFL game. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams and later the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024 but did not appear in a regular-season game for either team.

Scott also pointed to his coaches and teammates as key sources of support throughout his career.

"I'm thankful for everything the game has given me and my family," the statement added.

Looking back at my career I'm just in awe of what God was able to accomplish, from a Walk-on who almost had to drop out of college to many years at the highest level, a lot of it doesn't make sense and I believe that's the point."

Scott ends his NFL career with 75 games played, including 12 starts. He also handled kickoff and punt returns at different times. Scott had three carries in the 2023 Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Eagles in the game, securing their second Vince Lombardi Trophy of the Patrick Mahomes era.

Away from football, Scott signed a deal with Dignitas, an Esports company, where he works as a content creator.

Darius Slay, 6-time Pro Bowl cornerback, announces retirement after 13 NFL seasons

Darius Slay, a six-time Pro Bowl cornerback, announced his retirement from the NFL after 13 seasons on Monday.

Slay made the announcement on his Instagram page, where he shared some career highlights as well as a message to the game of football.

"Dear football, I wanna thank you for all you’ve done for me," his Instagram caption read. ‘I’ve been blessed to play the game I loved since I was 5yrs old for an amazing 13yrs at the highest level. Football was my peace, my joy, my everything. This game put me in a position to help take care of my family and loved ones and I’m forever grateful."

Slay, a second-round pick out of Mississippi State by the Detroit Lions, racked up a career 28 interceptions, including a league-leading eight in 2017, and 163 passes defended, which also led the league that year.

He became one of the best players at his position in the league over his seven years with the Lions before transitioning to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020 when he was traded to the East Coast.

SUPER BOWL CHAMPION BRYCE HUFF RETIRES FROM NFL AT 27

It was there Slay continued to make Pro Bowls, but he captured his one and only Super Bowl ring during the 2024 season after defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans in Super Bowl LIX.

Slay spent a year with the Pittsburgh Steelers last year in his final season, playing 10 games with three passes defended.

"It’s hard to say goodbye, but God has a new chapter for me and I’m ready to turn the page and start appreciate the love and support y’all have given to me. I couldn’t have done it without you. Just a kid from Brunswick, GA with BIG dreams…" he wrote.

Slay earned the nickname "Big Play Slay" for his ability to come up clutch at a position that is one of the hardest to play in the NFL.

But after the Steelers released him following 10 games, he was claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills. However, he never played for them, saying he didn’t "feel like packing up and moving again."

It was a decision that ultimately led Slay to call it quits for his career, one that he should be happy with considering the accolades he racked up, both personally and as a team, considering he will always be known as a Super Bowl champion.

Super Bowl champion Bryce Huff retires from NFL at 27

San Francisco 49ers defensive end Bryce Huff announced Thursday he will retire from the league after six seasons. Huff is 27.

The 49ers acquired Huff in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles last offseason. He was a key part of San Francisco’s defense in 2025, finishing tied for first in sacks with four. However, he failed to record a sack in his final 10 games in the regular season and playoffs.

"I'm retiring from football. I started playing football when I was 4 years old," he said in a video posted to his Instagram. "Growing up, I wasn't the biggest or the strongest, and I didn't have any friends. All I really had was the game, football kept me grounded."

Huff joined the New York Jets in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis. He played four seasons with the team, recording 65 tackles and 17.5 sacks.

He signed with the Eagles in 2024, playing 12 games for them and being a part of the Super Bowl-winning team.

When coach Saleh arrived my second year, he and his staff helped me become the best version of myself. My four years in New York will always mean a lot to me. That locker room built me. During that time, I earned a contract that made me the highest paid undrafted non-QB in NFL history. I spent a year in Philadelphia where we won a Super Bowl.

"I really evaluated what mattered in my life. That led me to San Francisco, where I was able to reset in a system I understood with a group of guys I respected. We battled through injuries, fought our way into the playoffs, and gave everything we had. Through all of it, I realized something. Football has been my entire life. I played ever since I was 4 years old. But at 27 years old, I know I'm capable of giving the world more than just football. The game taught me perseverance, it taught me discipline. It taught me how to lead and how to find a way for it, where things feel impossible."

Super Bowl champ Jalen Hurts reveals he nearly quit football

Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts opened up Monday about a time when he started to question whether he wanted to continue pursuing his football career.

During an appearance on ABC’s "Good Morning America," Hurts was promoting his new book "Better Than a Touchdown." The hosts played a video from a fan who asked him whether there was a time when he wanted to quit altogether and how he was able to get through his own self-doubt.

"A time where I wanted to quit," he said. "There was a time I was actually just reflecting on this, there was a time in college where I really questioned, ‘What’s going on? Where do I go from here?’ I had a lot of adversity in front of me. I was counted out. I was doubted. Broken down and dissected and all these different ways. I just persevered.

"My passion overcame every ounce of doubt, overcame every ounce of fear. And I think that’s the No. 1 thing in life. … You gotta have the courage to press forward. Without the courage and perseverance and resilience and the passion, I wouldn’t be here today."

Hurts was the starting quarterback for the Alabama Crimson Tide when he began his collegiate career. He was replaced in the 2018 SEC Championship Game by Tua Tagovailoa, who eventually led the team to a comeback win over Georgia.

After that, Hurts transferred to the Oklahoma Sooners for one more season. He was able to legitimize himself as an NFL prospect during the 2019 season.

He entered the NFL Draft in 2020, and the Eagles chose him in the second round with the No. 53 overall pick. He was in a draft class with Tagovailoa, Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and Jordan Love.

Hurts was able to work to get the starting spot and helped lead the Eagles to two Super Bowl appearances, including a win over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024. He’s the only quarterback from the draft class to get a ring so far.

Over his career, Hurts earned three Pro Bowl selections. He has 17,891 passing yards and 110 touchdown passes. He won the Super Bowl LIX MVP award.

Eagles' Cooper DeJean expresses dismay as 'exciting Whites' teammate set to sign elsewhere

The Philadelphia Eagles’ dynamic defensive back duo was broken up on Monday as NFL free agency got off to a hot start.

Reed Blankenship, who was one half of the "exciting Whites," agreed to a three-year deal with the Houston Texans, according to The Athletic. The move ended a brief run for the two players who helped the team to a Super Bowl title during the 2024 season.

Cooper DeJean, the other half of the tandem, lamented the move.

The Eagles signed Blankenship as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee State before the 2022 season. He wasn’t an immediate starter and began to get first-team reps going into the 2023 season.

Just like how football fans can't have football without wings during the Super Bowl, and you can't have wings without Bounty, football teams can't have wins without chemistry, and you can't have chemistry without your wingman.

Numerous duos of teammates joined Bounty's wingman campaign during Super Bowl week once again to hype up their on-field wingmen and discuss what makes each so conducive to the other's success.

"We were in the same class, so we got drafted to Detroit in the same year. We've been an important part of what Detroit is building and the culture. From there on, we've gotten closer on the field. He does his thing, I do mine, and it makes it fun," Detroit Lions offensive lineman Penei Sewell said of Amon-Ra St. Brown.

"Without him, Jared [Goff] can't throw the ball. Without Jared throwing the ball, I can't catch it. So he's my wingman," the receiver added of Sewell.

Los Angeles Chargers receiver Ladd McConkey found a new wingman this season in Keenan Allen, as the longtime veteran returned to L.A. after a brief stint in Chicago.

"It meant so much, him coming back. Somebody's gonna win, and being able to gain knowledge off him, the leadership he brought into the receiver room was special," he said.

"I was gonna let him make his mistakes, but he didn't make a lot of them. He's grown a lot, and it's been fun playing with him," Blankenship added.

New York Giants rookies Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo instantly became fan favorites, and it's easy to see why.

"It starts with our competitive nature, the way we go about our business every single day and compete, our habits and discipline on the field. At the same time, we just go out there with a ton of passion," Dart said.

NFL great and Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen dead at 91

Hall of Fame quarterback Sonny Jurgensen has died, his family announced in a statement released by the Washington Commanders on Friday. He was 91.

Jurgensen’s cause of death is not known. He spent 11 seasons with the then-Washington Redskins and seven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles.

"It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our husband, father, and grandfather, Sonny Jurgensen," Jurgensen’s family said in a statement.

"We are enormously proud of his amazing life and accomplishments on the field, marked not only by a golden arm, but also a fearless spirit and intellect that earned him a place among the legends in Canton. But to those of us who knew him beyond the stadium lights, he was the steady, humorous, and deeply loving heart of our family."

"He lived with deep appreciation for the teammates, colleagues, and friends he met along the way. While he has taken his final snap, his legacy will remain an indelible part of the city he loved and the family he built."

Jurgenson began his career with the Eagles and was the starter for three seasons. He led the NFL in passing yards in both 1961 and 1962. In 1961, he threw for 3,723 yards with 32 touchdowns and 24 interceptions, throwing the most touchdowns and interceptions in the NFL that season.

In 1962, he threw for 3,261 yards with 22 touchdowns and 26 interceptions. His 26 interceptions are still an Eagles team record.

With Washington, Jurgenson made four of his five career Pro Bowls. He led the NFL in passing for three seasons with the Redskins and led the NFL with the most touchdown passes thrown in 1967, with 31.

Following his playing career, Jurgenson went to the team’s broadcast booth and spent 38 seasons as an analyst before retiring in August 2018.

"Sonny Jurgensen is, and always will be, one of the defining legends of Washington football. He was a brilliant leader, Hall of Fame quarterback, and had one of the best arms the game has ever seen. After his career on the field, Sonny’s voice became a fixture of Washington Sundays for decades, shaping the way generations of fans experienced the game," Commanders managing partner Josh Harris said in a statement.

"For me, Sonny was the embodiment of what it means to don the Burgundy and Gold: tough, smart, and endlessly devoted to this franchise and its fans. He was a giant of the game and a beloved part of our team’s identity. Our hearts and prayers are with Sonny’s family, friends, and everyone who loved him."

He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1983. Jurgensen is in the Commanders’ Ring of Honor and Eagles’ Hall of Fame.

Jurgensen ranks in the top 40 in NFL history in career passing touchdowns (255) and interceptions (189).

"We are comforted by the knowledge that he brought joy to so many. This weekend as we enjoy the game that he loved so much, join us and raise a glass, share a story and a smile, as we celebrate the extraordinary life of a man who was, to us, the greatest of all time," Jurgensen’s family said in the statement.

Eagles stars 'block out the outside noise' around coach Nick Sirianni amid criticism over tough season

If the Philadelphia Eagles are not playing for a Super Bowl, Nick Sirianni is apparently on the hot seat.

The Eagles head coach's job appeared in jeopardy last year after a disappointing finish to the 2023 season, until he won the Super Bowl.

This season, though, the Eagles did not look like the same team, and it resulted in the firing of offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after one season.

Sirianni remains safe despite the outcry, yet two young Eagles stars don't even bother to pay attention to the noise.

"We play in a city that gets great media coverage. Some good, some bad. More bad than good, probably. Gotta find something good to write about," Cooper DeJean told ӣ��Ƶ Digital. "Just block out the outside noise and go to work."

While Sirianni may seem hard-nosed on everyone's TV screens, DeJean said he's "one of the guys."

Once again, there was also talk of friction between A.J. Brown and others, including Sirianni. Sirianni and Brown had an animated conversation after Brown dropped a pass during the team's playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers last month.

The pattern for the Eagles over the last four seasons has been Super Bowl appearance, wild-card exit, Super Bowl win, wild-card exit. Perhaps history could repeat itself, but expect the Philly media to be up in arms if it does not.

Former NFL defensive lineman stabbed to death in Los Angeles, records show

Kevin Johnson, a former NFL defensive lineman who played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders in the 1990s, was stabbed to death in Los Angeles, authorities said. He was 55.

Johnson’s body was discovered at a homeless encampment Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The cause of death was listed as blunt head trauma and stab wounds, records showed.

His death was being investigated as a homicide. ӣ��Ƶ Digital reached out to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for further comment.

"Unfortunately, it appears he was homeless," Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve De Jong told Newsweek. "It looks like he was probably living there."

Johnson’s friends and family mourned him on social media.

He played 23 games for the Eagles over two seasons. He recorded 43 tackles and seven sacks and returned one fumble for a touchdown.

Johnson joined the Raiders in 1997 and had 11 tackles in 15 games.

The defensive tackle took a chance at Arena Football when his time in the NFL was over. He played on both sides of the ball for the Orlando Predators and helped them to an ArenaBowl championship in 1998. He later played for the Los Angeles Avengers.

Former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles had one more swipe for the New England Patriots as they prepare to take on the Denver Broncos and backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham in the AFC Championship Game next week.

Foles, who led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl title over the Patriots after being the backup for Carson Wentz in 2017, shared a positive message for Broncos fans as they reel from the season-ending injury that Bo Nix suffered on the second-to-last play of their win against the Buffalo Bills.

"Note for the Broncos and their fans: I know it has been an emotional 24 hours. I feel for Bo and the team, and I'm sending prayers for a strong recovery," Foles wrote on X.

"A positive note going into the game versus the Patriots is that they struggle against backup QBs in championship-type games."

Foles helped engineer one of the more improbable Super Bowl wins in recent history. He was 28-of-43 with 373 passing yards and three touchdown passes in the 41-33 win.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton was supportive of Stidham going into the game.

"It started with our evaluation in New Orleans of him," Payton said when asked why he believed Stidham was ready for the challenge. "He was a target for us in the draft. That doesn’t really mean anything other than we liked this player coming out. I know how he was coached in New England. I know exactly how he was coached in New England. Then I know how [Patriots offensive coordinator Josh] McDaniels felt about him when he brought him from New England to Vegas. Then I know reports on how he played, and then we saw him play (in) real time.

Jason Kelce says Eagles players share blame with fired coordinator Kevin Patullo for offensive struggles

The Philadelphia Eagles fired offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after a disappointing 23-19 loss in the Wild Card round against the San Francisco 49ers.

However, former Eagles star center Jason Kelce said that while Patullo bears responsibility for the offensive struggles, he thought the players could have performed better.

"The bottom line is this offense didn't live up to what it should have, right? And Patullo, as the offensive coordinator, bears responsibility and so do the players. That's my thing. I don't think the players played as good as they could have," Kelce said during a recent episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

"I love all those guys and that's just the way it is sometimes. I had my seasons. I damn sure did. And you know, how do they rebound from this? Where do they go from here? There'll be new faces in. There'll be faces that are familiar that are out."

The 38-year-old said he doesn’t think it’s fair for all the blame to be placed on Patullo. Kelce referenced the offensive line's inability to stay healthy and a running game that regressed as causes for the downturn.

"The main reason (for the regression) and I've been saying this from the beginning was the run game. The offensive line's inability to stay healthy altogether to open up holes. Saquon Barkley almost set the NFL record for rushing last year. They were incredible in the run game," Kelce said.

The seven-time Pro Bowler pointed out that while the Eagles won the Super Bowl last season, the passing game struggled. With the running game not nearly as dynamic as it was last season, the issues with the passing game became more prominent.

"The passing game, they struggled last year. I mean, there were all sorts of things happening last season that we like to forget because we won the Super Bowl, but the passing game has been an issue for multiple seasons now. Now, the running game isn't there. Why isn't it there? The offensive line is in and out. They're hurt. Guys are overcoming injuries. They're not playing the same way they've played in the past," Kelce said.

"You have a quarterback that's not running as much. Jalen Hurts, the threat of him running the ball, opens up so much for the running back when they have to truly respect it, and it also opens up things downfield."

Kelce did lament the lack of creativity within the Eagles offense and said it would "behoove" them to bring in someone from outside the building as their new offensive coordinator.

"I would love to see more motions. I would love to see all that stuff," Kelce said. "It would probably behoove the Eagles to bring in somebody with a fresh perspective on where it's at currently, because when you're in it, you're thinking about what you've done well in the past. You're thinking about how you've had success."

"It's like, man, I know this guy can do this. I know this can happen here. Yeah. When you bring in somebody else, it's like, man, this is where we're at now. And now we can bring in some fresh ideas. we can figure out a way to maximize things while keeping that nucleus together."

Last season, during the team’s Super Bowl-winning season, they were tied for fourth in the NFL, averaging 29 points per game. This season, they scored a touchdown fewer, averaging 22.1 points per game, which ranked 19th in the NFL.

The Eagles hope their next offensive coordinator can turn things around quickly.

Eagles move on from offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after uneven season, coach Nick Sirianni says

In keeping with a trend that has developed over the past several years, another Philadelphia Eagles season is ending with the team’s offensive coordinator moving on.

Kevin Patullo, who had been under fire for much of the season, will not return for a second year as the play caller in Philadelphia. On Tuesday, head coach Nick Sirianni said he met with Patullo to discuss "the difficult decision" to part ways.

"I have decided to make a change at offensive coordinator. I met with Kevin [Patullo] today to discuss the difficult decision, as he is a great coach who has my utmost respect.

"He has been integral to this team’s success over the past five years, not only to the on-field product but behind the scenes as a valued leader for our players and organization. I have no doubt he will continue to have a successful coaching career."

Despite an NFL-leading investment in the offense, the offense under Kevin Patullo struggled with inconsistency and failed to meet expectations, a trend that came into focus in the second half of Sunday’s wild-card loss to the 49ers.

Philadelphia failed to score in the second half and came up empty on a fourth-down attempt late in the fourth quarter. The 49ers held on for a 23-19 win, ending the Eagles’ bid to repeat as Super Bowl champions. San Francisco advanced to face the top-seeded Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round.

The Eagles finished No. 21 in offensive points per game and ranked 24th in yards per game with Patullo as the play caller. On a positive note, Patullo’s offensive scheme excelled in the red zone, with Philadelphia leading the NFL in efficiency in that area.

Saquon Barkley, last year’s NFL Offensive Player of the Year, did not believe Patullo should have been solely responsible for the team’s offensive struggles.

"I think you have to point the finger at one person, that’s what you guys have to do in your job," Barkley told reporters after the Eagles were eliminated from the postseason. "Somebody’s got to catch the blame — especially when we had the season we had the year before. Do I think that’s fair? No, I don’t think that’s fair at all."

Patullo joined the Eagles in 2021 as pass game coordinator. Nick Sirianni was named the team’s head coach that same year and previously worked with Patullo in Indianapolis when both were with the Colts.

NFL legend Michael Strahan took issue with the heated interaction between Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and wide receiver A.J. Brown in the first half of their playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Sirianni and Brown were seen yelling at each other on the sideline, sparking fans to wonder whether it was tensions boiling over or fiery competitive spirit breaching the hatch.

The former New York Giants star didn’t appear to appreciate the moment.

"I don’t understand why Sirianni’s running down there and yelling at one of his star players, A.J. Brown," Strahan said during halftime of the FOX broadcast. "You know, A.J. Brown wanted to get involved in the game, I’m pretty sure. They took two big shots with him, maybe he said, ‘Give me a shot,’ and the coach said, ‘You had your chance, you better catch the ball next time.’

"I don’t understand why you do that in the middle of a game like this, because I don’t think that brings out the best in your players. I think it takes away from your play. I think it takes away from the attitude of the team and the energy of the team."

Strahan did credit the Eagles for being able to win games with what appeared from the outside as "internal dysfunction."

Sirianni explained that he was rushing toward Brown to get him off the field so the team could punt.

"I love A.J. I think he knows how I feel about him. I have a special relationship with him," Sirianni said. "We probably went through every emotion you can possibly have together. We’ve laughed together, we’ve cried together, we’ve yelled at each other. We’re both emotional. I was trying to get him off the field and that happens in this game.

"It happens in this game, but I love him."

Brown did have an opportunity to make a play on third down on the Eagles’ final drive down four points. A Jalen Hurts pass intended for the wide receiver went off of his hands. The Eagles’ drive was able to continue as they converted on fourth down.

Brown didn’t receive another target for the rest of the series.

San Francisco won the game, 23-19.

Brown had three catches on seven targets for 25 yards. Dallas Goedert had a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown from Hurts.

49ers eliminate defending Super Bowl champion Eagles from playoffs

The San Francisco 49ers got the job done on the road, upsetting the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, 23-19, in the Wild Card Round to move on in the playoffs.

The 49ers will go on to face their NFC West-rival Seattle Seahawks, who got a bye as the No. 1 seed in the NFC this year.

Meanwhile, the Eagles’ season ends in surprising fashion, and it came in near the red zone with less than one minute to play in the fourth quarter.

Just like the Wild Card games before theirs, the Eagles and 49ers came down to the wire, and it seemed whoever had the last possession was going to take it home.

But Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was unable to connect with DeVonta Smith on third-and-11, forcing a season-altering fourth down on the ensuing play. He dropped back, scanned the field and unloaded to tight end Dallas Goedert, the man who had the Eagles’ two touchdowns in this contest.

However, 49ers linebacker Eric Kendricks read the play perfectly, jumping the route and knocking it incomplete with 43 seconds left to seal victory for San Francisco.

EAGLES' NICK SIRIANNI, AJ BROWN SCREAM AT EACH OTHER ON SIDELINE DURING WILD CARD ROUND VS 49ERS

Prior to that game-deciding drive, Brock Purdy and the 49ers’ offense needed to respond to the Eagles’ field goal that made the score read 19-17 on the Jumbotron at Lincoln Financial Field in favor of the home team. Purdy did so indeed, going 10 plays and 66 yards to eventually find Christian McCaffrey on third-and-goal for his second score of the game to take a 23-19 lead after Eddy Pineiro missed the extra point.

It wasn’t McCaffrey’s most impressive touchdown of the game, though, as that came from the arm of wide receiver Jauan Jennings instead of Purdy earlier in the fourth quarter.

The trick play worked perfectly for head coach Kyle Shanahan, as Purdy flipped the ball back to Jennings, who then launched it to McCaffrey for the 29-yard touchdown pass. McCaffrey made a beautiful over-the-shoulder grab for the man who also threw a pass in the 49ers’ Super Bowl just a few seasons ago.

This game was a defensive battle on both sides, as Hurts and Purdy had their fair share of mistakes, though the latter’s showed up in the box score. Purdy threw two interceptions, both to First-Team All-Pro cornerback Quinyon Mitchell.

But this group of 49ers, some of whom were playing limited snaps during the regular season, was flying all over the field for coordinator Robert Saleh, and it paid off in the end.

Saquon Barkley definitely had a big game on the ground, though, with 106 yards on 26 carries. But Hurts had just 14 rushing yards on five attempts.

Meanwhile, McCaffrey was held to just 48 yards on 15 carries, though he had 66 yards on six catches. Also, Demarcus Robinson, the game’s first touchdown scorer, led the way with 11 yards on six grabs for the 49ers.

Unfortunately for San Fran, they move on to the next round likely without star tight end George Kittle, whose only catch in this game resulted in what’s believed to be a torn Achilles for the 32-year-old. The loss goes without saying considering his leadership qualities and stellar play this year.

With the 49ers’ win, the Divisional Round is set elsewhere, too, with the Los Angeles Rams heading to Chicago to face the Bears after their comeback victory over the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night.

San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle suffered a torn Achilles in the second quarter of the Wild Card Round matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the team's 23-19 win.

Kittle was carted off the field after being tackled following a catch in the second quarter. He immediately grabbed at his right ankle, and replay showed him give way to Zach Baun's tackle without a fight to get off his leg.

Kittle was trying to encourage his teammates as he was being carted off, clapping in their direction. But it’s hard not to feel for the 32-year-old, who many consider the best tight end in the sport.

It’s a massive loss for the 49ers, as they try to take down the Eagles on the road to advance in the NFL Playoffs. The 49ers could’ve had the No. 1 seed, home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, and a bye week, but they fell to the Seattle Seahawks in Week 18 to lose the NFC West title and those perks.

The last time the 49ers traveled to Philadelphia for a playoff contest was the 2022 NFC Championship Game, which proved brutal in the injury department as well for them.

Quarterback Brock Purdy tore his UCL in his throwing elbow, and after backup Josh Johnson also got hurt, the 49ers were left lifeless at the position in what was a beatdown as the Eagles went to the Super Bowl.

While it wasn’t Purdy, Kittle is a key piece of this entire team, let alone the offense. He provides valuable leadership whether he’s on the field or not, and injuries have kept him out during the regular season as well.

Kittle dealt with a hamstring injury that forced him to miss five of the first six games of the 49ers’ regular season games. They also had him miss Week 17 due to an ankle ailment suffered in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts.

The 49ers may have advanced to the Divisional Round, but Kittle won't be available to play moving forward.

Kittle’s ninth year in the NFL saw him tally 57 catches for 628 yards and seven touchdowns across 11 games. He made his fifth straight Pro Bowl and seventh overall in 2025.

Eagles' Nick Sirianni, AJ Brown scream at each other on sideline during Wild Card Round vs 49ers

Tension is always high during the NFL playoffs, but it spilled over between head coach and star wide receiver on Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and receiver A.J. Brown were spotted on the FOX broadcast going face-to-face with each other on the sideline, to the point where team chief security officer "Big Dom" DiSandro had to get in the middle and break it up.

Sirianni was seen sprinting down his sideline at Lincoln Financial Field to yell at Brown to get off the field, but the veteran receiver clearly didn’t like what his head coach was saying and they got into it.

It appeared Sirianni was trying to tell Brown to get off the field to avoid a too-many-men-on-the-field penalty, where left tackle Jordan Mailata was also close to forcing laundry to hit the grass.

Words were exchanged, though it’s unknown exactly what was said. Brown continued to jaw at Sirianni, who was being directed away from his receiver by a staff member.

Everything cooled down afterward, with Sirianni even telling FOX’s Erin Andrews that’s just the way they are together sometimes.

Given Brown’s controversy all season, though, it’s hard for fans not to speculate about the situation.

Despite the Eagles’ success, winning the NFC East and earning the No. 3 seed in the playoffs, Brown’s production was a national topic throughout the regular season as the Eagles struggled to get things going.

Brown ultimately continued his 1,000-yard receiving streak (1,003) with his third straight seven-touchdown campaign.

But he made comments at multiple points during the season, seemingly voicing his frustration with the offense. Offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo also came under fire from the Eagles’ fan base, as the reigning Super Bowl champions weren’t performing as expected.

After 18 weeks, the NFL regular season has come to a close, and the playoffs are here.

There are 14 teams left standing, all eyeing a shot at making a Super Bowl run that concludes with confetti on the field in Santa Clara, California. Week 18 delivered heartbreak for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Baltimore Ravens, who fell just short of winning their division and missed the playoffs.

Wild Card Weekend has two games on Saturday, three games on Sunday and one game on Monday.

In Week 18, the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks earned the No. 1 seed and the all-important bye week.

While the Broncos and Seahawks will watch the chaos unfold at home, 12 teams will be battling for their playoff lives during NFL Wild Card weekend.

NFL Wild Card weekend has a little bit of everything: heated rivalries that will add another chapter, rematches from hotly contested regular season games, and rematches of NFC and AFC Championship games.

The Los Angeles Rams will begin the weekend seeking to avenge their Nov. 30, 31-28 loss to the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers lost to the Buccaneers on Saturday, leaving their playoff fate in the hands of the Altanta Falcons. If the Falcons lost to the Saints, then the Buccaneers would have advanced instead.

However, the Falcons beat the Saints, setting up the rematch with the Rams.

The Saturday night game sets up a round three between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears, who have delivered two thrillers so far this season. The teams split the series, each team winning at home.

It’s also the third time the two teams have played in the playoffs, and the bitter rivals split the previous two matchups.

Sunday’s slate begins with the Buffalo Bills traveling down south to play the Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams are among the hottest in the NFL entering the playoffs, as the Bills have won four in a row while the Jaguars have won eight consecutive games.

The Jaguars had a phenomenal first season under head coach Liam Coen, going 13-4 and winning the second-most games in a single season in franchise history. They will look to take down the Bills, who enter as a Wild Card team.

The middle game on Sunday is a rematch of the 2022 NFC Championship game between the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles beat the 49ers 31-7 after quarterback Brock Purdy and backup quarterback Josh Johnson suffered injuries.

The 49ers and Eagles have played twice in the playoffs, each winning a game.

The last game on Sunday is between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers, marking the fourth time the two teams have met since the turn of the century. The Patriots have won all of those playoff appearances, downing the Chargers in the AFC Divisional Round in 2007 and 2019, while beating the Chargers in the AFC Championship in 2008.

Monday night’s game is between the Pittsburgh Steelers, who needed a missed Tyler Loop field goal to advance, and the Houston Texans, who boast the NFL’s best defense. The two teams have never played against each other in the playoffs, and the Steelers own a 5-3 record against the Texans all time.

Eagles legend Billy Ray Barnes, member of 1960 championship team, dead at 90

Billy Ray Barnes, a Philadelphia Eagles legend, died at age 90 Wednesday, the team announced.

The Eagles released a statement Friday night saying Barnes died in Landis, North Carolina, surrounded by his family and friends.

"He was 90 and had a fabulous life," Barnes’ daughter, Billi Barnes Akins, said in the Eagles’ announcement.

Barnes was the team’s second-round pick in the 1957 NFL Draft out of Wake Forest, and he was a key member of the Eagles’ 1960 championship team.

During his career, he earned three Pro Bowl honors in his five seasons with the franchise.

"One of the things that he loved about the Eagles is, in that championship game, they were the underdogs," Akins added. "Dad always liked being the underdog. He said it made him tougher, made him stronger, made him play harder.

"He said the only thing that allowed them to win was their team. They were a team that was really tight and believed in each other."

Barnes was a major contributor to that championship team’s offense, leading the team in rushing and receiving as a halfback.

Through his five seasons in Philadelphia, Barnes rushed for 2,391 yards with 20 touchdowns, while hauling in 120 passes for 1,275 yards with eight scores through the air.

"The fondest memory of everything up there is the fans," Barnes said in the 2021 feature, "Where Are They Now?" "I played there for five years, but I lived there year-round for about eight years. The people were just great to me in Philadelphia."

After his time in Philadelphia, Barnes played two seasons each with the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Redskins.

Then, after his playing days, Barnes served as an assistant coach for the New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons.

The Eagles had Barnes and his teammates return to Philadelphia for their 50-year reunion of the 1960 championship during the 2010 campaign.

"He never realized how people thought of these guys as the greatest ever," Akins recalled. "People you wouldn’t even know would just call him and reach out to him.

"The biggest thing was the friendships that he had made there. They were lifelong. He talks to a bunch of guys on the phone for years. He enjoyed everything about Philadelphia."

Tom Brady made his return to Orchard Park, New York, on Sunday evening to call the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles. It was his first time back to Highmark Stadium since he was playing in the NFL.

There appeared to be no love lost between Bills fans and Brady. FOX broadcaster Kevin Burkhardt asked Brady during the game whether the legendary quarterback received a warm welcome from fans upon his arrival – this time, as a color commentator.

"Oh, warm embrace," Brady said. "A lot of people had the one-finger salute they were giving me as I looked down from the press box. Kinda reminded me how much they enjoyed me coming to down I guess."

Burkhardt added, "They said you are No. 1."

Brady owned the Bills throughout his career. He was 33-3 against the Bills, throwing for 9,032 passing yards and 72 touchdowns. It was the most wins he had against a team and the most touchdown passes he threw against one team. It was the second most yards he threw against a single team. The only other team he dominated as much was the New York Jets.

The Bills clawed back from a 13-point deficit against the Eagles in the fourth quarter but fell just short. Philadelphia won the game, 13-12.
