White House faith advisor says Americans are leaving organized religion but not losing faith in God

White House faith advisor Paula White-Cain shared an Easter message of hope and redemption while pushing back on data showing declining religious affiliation in the United States.

"Without a real relationship with God, I don't know how people really make it. And He loves you, He wants you, He desires you, and He made a way to come to Him freely through His Son, Jesus Christ," White-Cain said on Saturday's "My View with Lara Trump."

"I love that He said He came to give us life and life more abundantly. That's the message. It's a message of hope, a message of love, a message of forgiveness and a message of reconciliation and redemption," she said.

White-Cain’s remarks come as recent polling shows a drop in Americans who say religion is important in their lives and a rise in those who identify with no specific faith.

The apparent shift, she argued, reflects a move away from organized religion rather than a decline in belief, pointing to what she described as growing interest in faith among younger Americans and rising Bible sales.

White-Cain suggested a range of factors could be driving the decline in formal affiliation, including skepticism toward institutions and a desire for more authentic expressions of faith.

"It means that they've dropped off of the institutions. Maybe it's their denomination or what their parents grew up in, but they are connected to God," White-Cain said, pointing to movements of young people pursuing faith and getting baptized.

"There are people that don't like necessarily the restrictions or rigidity, and they're looking in different places for authenticity and for purpose," she said.

Shapiro also touted Trump's action in Iran as potentially "the single most transformational foreign policy move since the fall of the Soviet Union," since the Iranian regime has waged terror on American citizens for nearly 50 years.

"They're responsible for the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, of Americans. They were developing a nuclear program, and they were moving more and more quickly toward a nuclear weapon that would have made it virtually impossible to stop them from spreading their terror tentacles around the region and then beyond that," he added.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff warned Saturday that Iran could be "a week away" from having "industrial-grade bomb-making material," raising urgent questions about what President Donald Trump could do next to address the looming threat.

"It’s up to 60%," Witkoff said of Iran’s enrichment level. "They’re probably a week away from having industrial-grade bomb-making material."

The "dangerous" proposition, Witkoff said on "My View with Lara Trump," comes despite Trump’s "zero enrichment" red line, which he accused Iran of violating "well beyond" what a civil nuclear program requires.

"We can't have that," he said. "This is something that they have to stick with until they prove to us that they can behave."

Witkoff told Lara Trump he met with Pahlavi at the president's direction.

Vance slams Dem ‘temper tantrum’ amid DHS shutdown, says Trump won’t back down on border

Vice President JD Vance tore into Democrats on Saturday, accusing them of forcing a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shutdown and trying to pressure President Donald Trump to abandon his border enforcement agenda.

"What’s become abundantly clear is there is no offer on the table. They’re just throwing a temper tantrum and hoping that the president will give up entirely on the idea of border enforcement," Vance said on "My View with Lara Trump."

"What we will be willing to do is talk to anybody about how we can make the enforcement of our immigration laws easier and smoother. We're willing to have that conversation, but we're not going to give up on the American border," he added.

Vance said he reached out to former Senate colleagues who have relationships across the aisle in an effort to determine what Democrats are demanding in exchange for ending the shutdown.

What is it that they're asking for? What policy changes?’" he said.

"We’re not going to agree with a lot of them," he added, referring to potential demands. "But at least let’s put an offer on the table."

Vance also zeroed in on Democratic-led cities that have resisted cooperating with federal immigration authorities, accusing them of creating the very chaos they criticize.

He argued that sanctuary policies in Democratic-led states have forced the administration to take a more aggressive posture, saying the president has directed federal officials to continue enforcement even where local leaders refuse to cooperate.

"The president has asked us to continue with the immigration policy," Vance continued, adding that in jurisdictions "that aren’t willing to work with us," the administration intends "to force them to work."

"You saw murders come down by 20% in 2025. A big part of that… is you've gotten these violent criminal illegal aliens out of the country, so we're going to keep on doing that, we're going to keep on working at it," he added.

Bondi pushes back on First Amendment claims after Don Lemon, others arrested over church disruption

Attorney General Pam Bondi pushed back Saturday against First Amendment criticisms after the Trump administration arrested journalist Don Lemon and other anti-ICE agitators accused of storming a Minnesota church, warning that attacks on houses of worship will not be tolerated.

"When we say God bless America, we mean it. We're going to protect America, and if you do that in any house of worship in this country, we're going to find you. We're going to indict you, and I'm going to prosecute you," she said on "My View with Lara Trump."

Her remarks come amid criticism that the arrests violated the agitators' First Amendment rights, something she dismissed by pointing to Title 18’s Church Arson Prevention Act of 1996 as evidence to the contrary.

"You also have a First Amendment right to worship freely and safely. On a Sunday morning, all of those parishioners, so many of them thought they were going to be involved in a mass shooting. They didn't know what was happening," she said.

DON LEMON RELEASED FROM CUSTODY AFTER LA COURT APPEARANCE

"People have the right to go to church, to synagogue, to a mosque, wherever you worship and feel safe while you are there, and under the Donald Trump administration, we're going to make that possible for them."

Bondi described the incident as a coordinated operation that unfolded as families arrived for worship, with the agitators caravanning to the church, entering and sitting in the pews alongside those there to worship.

"These parishioners are coming in, and they didn't realize they had already been infiltrated. They had part of these attackers walking in with them, sitting next to them in the pews. They're there to worship God," she said.

According to Bondi, the group stormed the church from multiple directions, shouting chants in unison as the service was underway, leaving congregants scrambling for safety.

She said parents were temporarily blocked from reaching their children at Sunday school, while others were prevented from exiting the building as panic spread through the sanctuary.

"Some of the lucky women ran out the side door, falling on the ice, legs up in the air. One woman hurt her arm so badly she had to go to the hospital," she recounted.

"Parishioners were blocked from exiting the church. Don Lemon, on video, blocked one of them. Screaming, yelling at the pastor. That's illegal in this country."

Lemon, a former CNN anchor, was charged in Los Angeles Friday afternoon on allegations of conspiring to violate someone’s constitutional rights and alleged FACE Act violations.

Now an independent journalist, Lemon said he had been attending the demonstration as a reporter, not as a protester. In a video posted to his YouTube channel, Lemon remarked, "I’m just here photographing, I’m not part of the group.… I’m a journalist."

Lemon and his defenders argue that the arrest violated his First Amendment rights.

Trump administration launches multi-agency 'strike force' to crack down on animal abuse

Senior officials in President Donald Trump’s administration say they are cracking down on animal cruelty, rolling out coordinated actions across the Justice Department, the Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to target dogfighting, puppy mills and animal testing.

"We are forming a strike force... and we're going to have designated U.S. attorneys in every state to prosecute these [animal abuse] cases," said Attorney General Pam Bondi on "My View with Lara Trump" on Saturday.

Bondi appeared with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to discuss their interagency animal welfare initiative.

Bondi said her department would work with the USDA to conduct special training for prosecutors and law enforcement agents on executing search warrants in animal abuse cases.

"We just last week convicted someone, for the first time ever, of using a firearm in a violent crime, and the violent crime was dogfighting," Bondi said.

In another example that shows "no one is above the law," Bondi told host Lara Trump that 190 dogs were seized from former NFL player LeShon Johnson.

"That was the most seized from one single defendant. So we're coming after you if you're going after these babies," she said, holding a small black puppy named Guru in her lap.

Rollins said the USDA is taking a tougher approach to shutting down abusive puppy mills, moving away from issuing warnings and toward stricter enforcement of the Animal Welfare Act.

"Compliance with the Animal Welfare Act, which is from the 1960s, was hovering around 65, 67% until the last few years. We're now closer to 92%, but it's that 8% that we're really going to focus on."

She described the poor conditions dogs can face in these mass-breeding operations. "No more puppy mills where you have puppies stacked on top of each other, where, if you don't sell them, then you drown them in a barrel because it's the cheapest way to do it."

Kennedy said all the major sub-agency heads at HHS are "all deeply committed to ending animal experimentation."

He said new studies on animal testing show "that the predictivity of animal models is very, very poor for human health outcomes. There are much more efficient ways of predicting human health outcomes. We are using, even in their nascent stages, computational modeling and AI," which he said provides much better results.

The HHS chief said there are about 100,000 primates in research labs across the country.

"There are another 20,000 that are imported every year, and we're very concerned about that. We're trying to put an end to that completely," he said, adding that his department was "re-educating researchers" to improve the predictability of human health outcomes.

In September, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) changed its rules to ensure funding could be used to "retire their primates to sanctuaries after the experimentation is done."

For an 18-year-old in the national spotlight, Kai Trump, the eldest grandchild of President Donald Trump, has had to deal with a fair share of critics and naysayers as she pursues a professional career in golf.

During a candid conversation with her aunt, Lara Trump, the future University of Miami golfer explained how she deals with those negative comments as she stays focused on her goals.

"I just stay away from it," she responded during an interview with her aunt on "My View with Lara Trump." "It doesn’t really affect me because, I don’t know, I know who I am. It doesn’t really matter, to be honest. People say whatever they want to say at the end of the day. I know what’s true and I know the type of person I am. It doesn’t really matter."

Kai had her LPGA Tour debut at The Annika at Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida, earlier this month, and though it didn’t go exactly how she planned, she still came away happy with the results in her first ever professional event.

"The first day, I’ve never been more nervous in my entire life. That was like the [Republican National Convention] times 30," Kai told her aunt as they drove in a golf cart. "It was very nerve-racking. For the nerves, I played well the first day. Then, the second day, I kinda went out there and was like, ‘OK, no more nerves.’ The nerves weren’t as bad and I did really well. So, I mean, it was a great experience. Thankful for the opportunity."

The high school senior shot a first-round 83, which put her in last place out of 108 players. But she bounced back on the second day with a five-over 75. Unfortunately for Kai, it wasn’t enough to make the cut into the weekend.

However, the experience was invaluable for Kai, who will be joining the Miami Hurricanes golf team next year. She spoke about why she chose Miami during the interview.

"Really just came down to the coaches. I love the program, and I also didn’t want to be so far away from home because I love coming back home," she said. "I love Florida. So, it really just came down to the coaches. The school is great for academics and the team is awesome," she said.

Kai’s performance on the LPGA Tour may not have been what she wanted, but LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau recently told ӣ��Ƶ Digital that he sees things differently.

"She shot five-over the second round, which is really, it’s actually really impressive," he explained. "We didn’t know how she was going to do, she handled herself very well, and what a great opportunity.

"I was talking to [tournament host] Annika [Sorenstam]. She's a part of the council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, and we were just talking about how, you know, ‘What do you think about it?’ We were both talking, and this is a great opportunity. She's like, 'There's plenty of others that have gotten invites that didn't do well, but it was a great experience for them. And I think it's going to be a great experience for her.’ It was awesome to see her go out there and compete doing what she loves doing, and she's getting better."

Of course, Kai loves the moments when she gets to spend time on the course with her grandfather, too. She called every one of those rounds "very special" and looks forward to them whenever they can hit the links with their busy schedules.

But Kai remains determined and focused on getting better each day to check her goals off one by one, starting with her next four years as a Hurricanes golfer.

"I’m going to go to college for four years at the University of Miami, play golf for them there. Then, if I get anymore sponsor invites, I’ll go play an LPGA Tour event here and there if I can those invites. Then, after college, go pro — that’s the plan. Obviously, it’s a lot easier said than done," she said.

Dave Portnoy blasts social media ‘cesspool’ for fueling hate after antisemitic encounter

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy lambasted the social media "cesspool" he says fuels hate after a shocking antisemitic encounter while filming a "One Bite" pizza review in Starkville, Mississippi.

"A kid came up [shouting], ‘F the Jews,’ threw a bunch of coins at me," Portnoy shared on "My View with Lara Trump."

"I've given [the incident] a lot of thought and I think there's a variety of factors [concerning] how we've gotten here. People aren't putting their foot down. It starts at colleges, people are getting away with basically threatening and intimidation and hate speech and… it's not being contended the way it should."

Portnoy, who is Jewish, said such behavior has been amplified on social media, which gives a platform to people who spread hateful views and lets them find community with others.

"The internet is a cesspool. Social media has allowed what I would think faceless names who… live in a corner of their own lives, and they're not normal people… to express themselves online," he said.

In Portnoy's case, former Mississippi State University student Patrick McClintock, 20, was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor.

McClintock was heard allegedly yelling, "Hey, f--- the Jews, f--- you, Dave."

"That was super uplifting," he said.

"Everybody was screaming at that kid. Everybody apologized to me all weekend. I didn't want apologies. I want outrage that this is happening."

Portnoy said the incident reflects a broader problem fueled by online anonymity and outrage, telling Lara Trump he receives similar hateful messages every day on X and Instagram.

"You know what all these people have in common? They cover their face," he said. "They're not real people, and it's hard not to pay attention to it, but this new social media really plays a huge factor in that they can kind of validate themselves. In the past, where did these people go? You didn't go out in public, they had nobody to talk to, but it's almost like they're forming these little groups online. It's an echo chamber where they think it's OK. It's nuts."

The U.K.-born survival expert’s book "The Greatest Story Ever Told: An Eyewitness Account," which was released in June, chronicles the life of Jesus into what he described as a punchy, faith-filled thriller.

"Everest is always going to be in my heart because we had climbers lose their lives up there. Two died of the cold, two fell, and I think that mountain shaped so much of the future of my life. It was through that that the Discovery Channel eventually approached me, and we saw ‘Man vs. Wild,’ and that grew into ‘Running Wild’ and all these shows," he said.

The adventurer said the reaction to his book has surpassed anything he’s experienced in television.

"I think I've had more response from this book than anything else I've ever done, any TV show," he said.

Beyond his career and faith, Grylls also spoke about the importance of getting outdoors.

"For me, the outdoors has always been such a beautiful, healing, grounding place," Grylls said. "That’s where I’d go to reconnect."

He worries that modern life has veered people away from nature.

"I think everyone's scared of the sun nowadays," he said.

"Try and just be disciplined about your time on your screen. It's not that it's bad, but try and just police yourself a little bit," Grylls recommended.

For Grylls, adventures aren’t always about the thrill of the feat, but living with intention.

"It doesn’t have to be the highest mountain in the world," he said. "It's how you live, how you approach risk, relationships, family, business and everything."

"My View with Lara Trump" host Lara Trump has sparked a travel debate regarding airport arrival time for passengers before their departing flights.

She spoke to ӣ��Ƶ Digital about how her "no-wait-at-the-gate" approach maximizes her time without requiring her to hang around needlessly at the airport beforehand.

"My goal is to make it to the gate right as they're calling my zone to board the airplane, because I don't want to waste a single minute," she said. "If I sit down at all at any point when I'm in an airport — the mission has failed."

She added, "Whenever you're trying to spend a little more time with your kids at home, or fit a lot into a day, what I've found is that, instead of being one of those people that kind of hovers around the gate and waits around for 30 minutes before they start boarding, my goal is to cut that back as much as humanly possible."

Summing it up neatly, she said her goal is to "get through security, walk up to the gates, board the airplane — and then they close the doors."

The TSA advises travelers to arrive at the airport two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight.

Passengers spend an average of 29 minutes of lost time, with 12 of those minutes due to departure delays and 17 minutes on the runway before takeoff, according to a 2024 study done by Upgraded Points.

President Donald Trump's daughter-in-law shared that she began her no-wait-at-the-gate hack during campaign season, when the family and members of the staff were trying to fit a lot into each day as they traveled from one place to another quickly.

"There are a couple of different websites that pop up, and they give you a lot of information, such as where your plane is coming from, how often it's delayed, is there another flight that you might be able to take."

She said it can be helpful for travelers to check flight numbers if they're not already at the airport, allowing for a little more time at home if possible.

She joked that if she does face a delay while already at the airport, she is always moving and looking to get her steps in.

Trump joked that now that she has Secret Service agents with her, they "have to keep up with [her] everywhere [she goes], but they [all get] a lot of steps in."

In a clip she posted on social media discussing her travel strategy, followers took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

"I like to get to the gate as my boarding group is called, walk on and buckle up," a person said, agreeing with Trump.

Another person wrote on Instagram, "I'm sick of getting there 1.5 hours before. I'll try this next time, maybe."

"I would die waiting until the last minute to get to the gate," said yet another user.

The person added, "I am arriving two hours before."

A different user said, "We are the airport four hours early."

Trump said she understands that her travel style is not for everyone and that some people don’t like it.

"I’ve traveled with some people who get a little stressed out over that," she said.

She admitted that sometimes even she and her husband, Eric Trump, "disagree on this whole tactic and technique in terms of what time we should leave our house or wherever we are in order to make it to the airport."

She said that when she travels solo, she tries to execute the no-wait-at-the-gate mission, so that she is "not spending an extra minute or two or 10 or more hours in an airport."

In July, TSA ended the shoe-off requirement at security checkpoints at every airport nationwide.

Trump said that she has CLEAR, so she's never had to take off her shoes — but she thinks the change is great for efficient travel.

"Going through security is tough," she said. "There's no doubt about it, especially when there's a long line."

She said she dislikes the automated bin systems used in airports such as LaGuardia and Atlanta, saying that process slows things down compared to when bins are handled by humans.

"I feel like having this robot doing it for you actually adds more time," she said. "It takes a lot longer for this thing to give me a bin than it would be if I just picked a bin up and put all my stuff in it myself."

"Look at the work the FBI did with ATF on Charlie's assassination. How quickly the FBI had someone in custody for this murder, so we will find you, we will catch you, and we will prosecute you," Bondi said during "My View with Lara Trump" on Saturday.

"I think that's a huge deterrent because I think a lot of people think they can get away with it, and they can't."

Prosecutors in Utah have indicted Robinson on first-degree murder and are seeking the death penalty, while federal authorities weigh additional charges. In Zarutska’s case, the Justice Department has confirmed that the death penalty remains "on the table" after her killing on public transit in Charlotte, North Carolina, back in August.

President Donald Trump previously slammed Bondi for "all talk, no action" while pressuring her to prosecute adversaries in since-deleted Truth Social post.

The president namely called for charges against former FBI Director James Comey, Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and New York Attorney General Letitia James.

"Pam: I have reviewed over 30 statements and posts saying that, essentially, "same old story as last time, all talk, no action. Nothing is being done. What about Comey, Adam "Shifty" Schiff, Leticia??? They’re all guilty as hell, but nothing is going to be done."

Trump later added that Bondi could not delay prosecutorial action against his opponents any longer, noting "It’s killing our reputation and credibility."

"They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!" he wrote.

After deleting the post, Trump sent out another, commending Bondi for her "careful" work over the last eight months.

When pressed by reporters, Trump denied being angry with Bondi, saying he simply wants people to "act fast."

The Justice Department did not immediately respond to ӣ��Ƶ Digital's prior request for comment.

Vice President JD Vance issued a warning to Republicans ahead of the 2026 midterms, saying that while many in his party may be satisfied with the Trump administration’s performance, complacency could put their vision at risk.

"You’ve got the far-left fanatics… they’re very angry right now, and they’re very motivated," Vance told ӣ��Ƶ’ Lara Trump in an interview Saturday.

He argued that while GOP voters are generally pleased with the administration’s record on major issues like the economy, crime and the border, outrage over those successes will drive Democrats to the polls.

The NRSC, since January, had been floating Whatley as a potential replacement for Tillis.

Whatley, a North Carolina native, served as the state's GOP chair for five years before he was elected RNC chair last March.

Trump called Tillis' announcement last month that he wouldn't seek a third six-year term in the Senate "great news."

Tillis is a GOP critic of the president, and Trump torched the senator last month for not supporting his so-called "big, beautiful" spending and tax cut bill.

With Tillis not seeking re-election, Trump is the kingmaker in selecting which Republican will be the party's 2026 Senate nominee in North Carolina.

"It’s the president’s choice. The president and his team will have those conversations," a Republican operative, pointing to Trump's immense sway over the GOP, told ӣ��Ƶ last month.

Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law, who served last year alongside Whatley as an RNC co-chair, was at the top of the list.

But in a statement on Thursday, Lara Trump said "after much consideration and heartfelt discussions with my family, friends, and supporters, I have decided not to pursue the United States Senate seat in North Carolina at this time."

Trump, who grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, and attended undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, is married to the president's son, Eric.

She stepped down from her post at the RNC late last year and currently hosts "My View with Lara Trump" on the ӣ��Ƶ Channel.

"While I am not running in this election, my passion for Making America Great Again burns brightly, and I look forward to the future, wherever that leads," Trump added in her statement.

Asked in an interview last week with ӣ��Ƶ Digital about the open seat in North Carolina, Whatley said, "I feel very good that we're going to be able to hold on to that seat. You know, we've been winning in that Senate seat down there for decades. The President has won that state three times in a row."

"If Laura Trump decides to move forward, then I think the entire ecosystem would coalesce behind her, including myself, and if she's not going to, then we will sit down with the President and figure out what the next steps are going to be," he added.

Whatley said the battle in North Carolina is "going to be the number one Senate race in the entire country, along with Georgia, just because of the number of media markets that we have, the spending that's going to be there, the fact that you've got to hold the seat and you've got to pick up seat in Georgia."

"We also going to have a tough race up in Maine. We're going to have an opportunity to pick up a seat in Michigan. So, you know, there are going to be a number of key races, but that's going to be one of the marquee races in the country," he added.

Republicans currently control the Senate with a 53-47 majority.

Unmasked ICE officers speak out against being 'villainized' for enforcing immigration laws

ICE agents have been doxed, demonized and terrorized since setting President Donald Trump's mass deportation plans into motion – and now three unmasked agents are pushing back against rhetoric that has landed them in the public's crosshairs.

"It has been very sad to see how we're villainized, the names used towards us," officer Kristian Moreno told "My View" host Lara Trump this weekend.

"Just doing this [interview] right now, I had to talk to my family about it and say, 'Hey, this is something that I believe in, something I think is important for us to get our stories out there and let the American public know we're humans.' We got a job to do. We're just enforcing the law. We're not making up the law, and it's sad, but we just keep pushing through it," he added.

Moreno works out of the field office in Baltimore, Maryland. He initially served in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) before going to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in San Ysidro, California.

ICE AGENT SHARES FEARS ABOUT FAMILY SAFETY AS ASSAULTS ON OFFICIALS SURGE

He and officers Edgardo Centeno and Chris Sandoval shared their inside-looking-out perspectives on the violence ICE officers risk daily, as the Department of Homeland Security indicates assaults against ICE agents have surged 830% since President Trump's second term began in January.

Centeno boasts the longest service record of Trump's three guests. Despite serving across four administrations, he has "never seen" anything like the hatred ICE faces today.

"I think the dynamics and environment that we're working in is sad. What we've seen in California, Los Angeles, New York, it is, in my opinion, unacceptable," he shared.

"We have to do our job. We raised our hands to defend the Constitution, and we're enforcing the law, so we're adjusting as we see what's going on in our country, but it's saddening my heart, especially when you serve in combat and come back and see your country so divided."

Centeno, who was born in New York and grew up in Puerto Rico, holds a background of military and law enforcement service. His eagerness to continue serving in a capacity to help his community and the nation compelled him to join ICE.

While not mentioning any specific lawmakers, he blasted those he said have allegedly "encouraged" members of the public to go after ICE officers while stressing that his agency does targeted operations instead of going after families and individuals.

"I believe in the First Amendment, and you can express yourself all you want, but when you are enforcing, as a Congress member… [people] to go after us, then you're crossing that line," he said.

"We should not be afraid of doing our jobs. I raised my hand to defend the Constitution, and I'll die for it. That's who I am, and I know my partners are the same here."

Some Democrats have drawn ire from Republicans after introducing a bill that would require federal immigration law enforcement officers to not wear face masks and have legible IDs while on the job.

Many argue the measure could jeopardize officers and their families by exposing their identities.

The DHS has also accused some Democrats and media outlets of inspiring violence against ICE officers with their "lies and fake stories."

Sandoval, who is based out of Houston, shared that some officers are being videoed or photographed, and the content is posted online so they can be put "on blast."

"It's kind of unfair to where… we're doing our job, we're serving the country, but sometimes I see people writing and stuff, and you're hurting your own community," he said.

Sunday, July 13, marks one year since 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania — nearly assassinating President Donald Trump. Now, on the anniversary of that fateful day, the president is reflecting on its events and what might have happened had fate not stepped in.

"It was unforgettable," Trump recalled during an exclusive "My View with Lara Trump" interview on Saturday.

"I didn't know exactly what was going on. I got whacked. There's no question about that, and fortunately, I got down quickly… because I think they shot eight bullets. Our sniper, within less than five seconds, was able to get him [Crooks] from a long distance with one shot. His [the sniper's] name is David, and he did a fantastic job."

Crooks, whose behavior had roused suspicion from local law enforcement, climbed atop a nearby roof and took aim at the then-presidential nominee before firing off bullets that fatally struck 50-year-old volunteer firefighter Corey Comperatore and critically wounded rally attendees David Dutch and James Copenhaver.

Trump has credited a chart showing the number of illegal immigrants who entered the country under the Biden administration with saving his own life. Without one split-second turn to read from the chart, experts have said it could have been "lights out" for the president.

The breakdown on July 13 led to bipartisan calls for then-USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign. After her resignation, Ronald Rowe Jr., who was serving as the deputy director, was appointed as the acting director.

Questions remain unanswered; notably, why did Crooks carry out the attack, and how did he get so close to succeeding?

While investigators have not identified a definitive ideological or political motivation, the FBI has suggested a complex interplay of personal grievances, mental health issues and a desire for notoriety that could have led to the attack.

Trump said he has been briefed "numerous" times and is "satisfied" with the information he's received.

"They should have had somebody in the building. That was a mistake. They should have communicated with the local police. They weren't tied in, and they should've been tied in, so there were mistakes made, and that shouldn't have happened, and that building was a prime building in terms of what they were trying to do. So, but, I was satisfied in terms of the bigger plot, the larger plot… I have great confidence in these people. I know the people, and they're very talented, very capable, but they had a bad day, and I think they'll admit that."

Nearly a year after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pa., President Donald Trump shared his thoughts about the "unforgettable" moment with ӣ��Ƶ, praising the quick action that might have saved his life.

"I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I got a whack," Trump said during an exclusive interview on "My View with Lara Trump."

"People were screaming, and I got down quickly, fortunately, because I think they shot eight bullets."

Those bullets were fired by 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, who opened fire from a nearby rooftop during Trump’s rally in Butler, Pa., on July 13, 2024. One bullet pierced Trump in the upper ear. Others hit bystanders, including 50-year-old firefighter Corey Comperatore, who was fatally wounded while shielding his wife and daughters in the crowd.

"Our sniper, within less than five seconds, was able to get him from a long distance with one shot," Trump said. "If he didn’t do that, you would have had an even worse situation. It was really bad."

No official motive has been released for the attack despite investigation by the FBI and Justice Department. This week, six Secret Service agents were suspended without pay in connection to the attack. A Senate report outlining what went wrong in Butler is expected soon.

Calls for greater transparency have grown in the months since the shooting, including from Trump himself. But now, the president says he’s satisfied with the briefings he's received.

"They briefed me, and I’m satisfied with it," he said, praising Attorney General Pam Bondi as doing a "fantastic" job leading the Justice Department.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth unveiled new details about his goals of reviving the "warrior ethos inside the military" during a recent interview with ӣ��Ƶ.

Chatting with ӣ��Ƶ host Lara Trump for a wide-ranging discussion on his first several months with the Trump administration, Hegseth reflected on how it was the "honor of a lifetime" to serve as the defense secretary of the United States.

"Our commitment has been clear from the minute, from the first minute [of the administration]," he said "My View with Lara Trump." "Restore the warrior ethos, rebuild our military-which President Trump did in the first term, and we're doing again."

HEGSETH TEARS INTO REPORTERS, ALLEGING THEY 'CHEER AGAINST TRUMP' AND IRAN STRIKES

Hegseth credited Trump’s leadership and the pilots of the B-2 bombers that conducted the U.S. military strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities back in June. He praised the mission, Operation Midnight Hammer, was one of the "most brilliant efforts in our military history."

"All the love and credit go to those in uniform who pulled it off," Hegseth said. "But again, our commander-in-chief set the tone, and now we've got a whole different set of opportunities."

"Trump's instinct, at the beginning, was based on his understanding of what those weapons could do and that they were delivered properly to the right place. Those places were obliterated, and he was right," he added.

Hegseth touched upon how he is making sure U.S. troops are kept to the highest physical standards, and the guidance he is giving to keep that promise.

"One of the most basic things you can do in the military is do PT in the morning. And that's what we're trying to do, get back to basics," he said.

Hegseth also stressed that physical standards apply equally to both men and women, and that everyone, regardless of their identity, simply must be qualified to serve.

"Carrying a rucksack or carrying an artillery round; carrying your buddy across the battlefield- it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman," he added. "You just need to be able to meet the standard."

Hegseth gave credit to his family for supporting him as he leads the Pentagon.

While Hegseth praised the U.S. military’s efforts thus far in the Trump administration, he insisted his mission of instilling a long-term "warrior ethos" into the organization is very much still a work-in-progress.

"Driving change into institutions is a difficult thing to do. The response of the American people, the immediate response to recruiting-it inspires the building," he said. "There's a ton of work left to be done to sort of truly put the ‘America First’ fingerprints stamp on the Defense Department. We've just gotten started."

TILLIS DENOUNCES TRUMP'S ‘BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL ’ HOURS AFTER SURPRISE RETIREMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

"Does he have great choices? Absolutely," said the strategist, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely.

Likely at the top of the list is Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law who served last year, amid the 2024 presidential campaign, as co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC).

TRUMP REACTS TO TILLIS NOT SEEKING RE-ELECTION, SENDS WARNING TO 'COST CUTTING REPUBLICANS'

Lara Trump, who grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina, and attended undergraduate studies at North Carolina State University, is married to the president's son, Eric.

The Republican strategist highlighted that Lara Trump "has the name, but beyond that she is a fundraising powerhouse, and she has the discipline to be an incredible candidate and senator if she chooses to."

"She’s probably the only person who should have ‘considering’ in the same sentence because she is the president’s daughter-in-law and that will be a consideration," the operative added.

Four years ago, Lara Trump considered making a bid for an open Senate seat in North Carolina in the 2022 midterm elections.

"It would be an incredible thing. It’s my home state, a state I love so much, and look, I think we need some strong Republicans in Washington, D.C.," she told ӣ��Ƶ at the time.

She ultimately decided against launching a campaign, citing her two young children as the main reason for her decision. But she did leave open the possibility of a future run for office in her home state.

Lara and Eric Trump own a home in Florida, and Lara Trump's name was briefly mentioned late last year as a potential successor to Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, who was nominated by Trump to serve as Secretary of State in his second administration.

"After an incredible amount of thought, contemplation, and encouragement from so many, I have decided to remove my name from consideration for the United States Senate, she said in a statement near the end of December.

Another name being floated in North Carolina is RNC Chair Michael Whatley.

Whatley served five years as chair of the North Carolina GOP before Trump early last year picked him to succeed Ronna McDaniel as RNC chair.

"Chairman Whatley is honored to have been asked by President Trump to serve as Chair of the Republican National Committee following a hugely successful 2024, and is focused on growing Republican majorities in Congress," an RNC adviser told ӣ��Ƶ when asked about the North Carolina Senate race.

WHAT MIKE WHATLEY TOLD FOX NEWS DIGITAL

Another name that comes up is Rep. Richard Hudson, who for a second straight cycle is chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Along with Whatley, Hudson, who for over a decade has represented a congressional district in the central section of North Carolina, is a strong Trump ally.

A source familiar told ӣ��Ƶ that Hudson "is tight with Trump world, and if they really wanted him to run, he wouldn't tell them no."

A trio of first-term Republican congressmen in North Carolina may also have interest in the race to succeed Tillis.

Sources confirmed to ӣ��Ƶ that Rep. Pat Harrigan is eyeing a bid. Reps. Tim Moore and Brad Knott may also have interest. And four-term GOP Rep. Murphy may consider a run.

Some national Republicans are relieved that Tillis isn't seeking re-election. Tillis, who has long been an independent thinker who crossed the political aisle to seek compromise, doesn't poll well with the MAGA base.

Some Republican operatives familiar with Senate races suggested that the GOP would have an easier time energizing base voters in a smaller midterm electorate with a more conservative candidate than Tillis on the 2026 ballot as the GOP's nominee in North Carolina.

And Trump loyalists saw the Tillis announcement as further proof of the president's immense hold over the GOP.

Tillis, in a statement, noted that "in Washington over the last few years, it's become increasingly evident that leaders who are willing to embrace bipartisanship, compromise, and demonstrate independent thinking are becoming an endangered species."

In the race for the Democratic Senate nomination, former Rep. Wiley Nickel, a trial lawyer and former state senator, launched a bid earlier this year.

But all eyes are on former two-term Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, who is mulling a run. Cooper is viewed as the most formidable and prominent potential Democratic candidate for a seat his party is aiming to flip from red to blue.

But no Democrat has won a Senate race in North Carolina since 2008.

Hours after Tillis' announcement on Sunday, a top non-partisan political handicapper shifted their rating on the North Carolina Senate race from Lean Republican to Toss Up.

"The surprise move from Tillis moves this race into the Toss Up category and officially makes the Tar Heel State Democrats’ top pickup opportunity," the Cook Report's Jessica Walter said.

Todd and Julie Chrisley break silence on Trump pardon in first interview since release from prison

Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley are still standing after a marathon legal saga led them to prison, prompting their daughter's fight for their pardons and President Donald Trump granting them their release.

The former "Chrisley Knows Best" duo voiced their gratitude towards the president while speaking out for the first time since their release from prison on "My View with Lara Trump" over the weekend.

"I just look at what the man [Trump] has gone through, what his family has gone through, and I said to Savannah [their daughter], ‘How can we complain?’ I said, ‘What the media has done to us, they did to him a million times more,’" Todd said while seated beside his family.

"God obviously knew that all of us were strong enough to endure it, and we're still standing. It was just a blessing to know that not only is the man that we had our faith in in 2016 is the same man we have our faith in in 2025."

Todd and Julie were convicted of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans as well as tax evasion and were sentenced to 12 and seven years, respectively.

Their sentences were later reduced before they were fully pardoned earlier this year.

During their interview with Lara Trump, each member of the Chrisley family revisited the moment they found out about the pardon.

Savannah and her younger brother Grayson heard the news from Trump himself.

"When we heard President Trump's voice, Grayson's tears just started rolling, and seeing the look on his face [knowing] that, now this has all finally come to an end, it was so surreal," Savannah recalled.

"Honestly, I was shocked when he [Trump] called me… I think also a big thing was he asked [pardon czar] Alice Johnson, ‘Is this a commutation or is this a full pardon?’ And she said, 'As of now, it's just a commutation.' He goes, 'Nope, nope. We're going to give them a full pardon. Give these people get their lives back, and I was just in total shock."

Trump's landslide victory last November was Savannah's only hope of seeing her parents come home from prison. She had been advocating for their release since they went to prison in January 2023, and reached out to Trump for a pardon earlier this year after their conviction was upheld by a three-judge panel last summer.

Todd also said he recognized the significance of Trump's 2024 victory, and everyone around him in prison began "screaming and yelling" when he was declared the winner.

"They knew, they felt in their spirit, that if President Trump wins this election, there's hope for all of us," he added.

Todd was notified of his pardon and called Savannah to confirm the news.

Julie, on the other hand, was told that her name had just been uttered on the news, so she called Savannah to see what had happened. After a couple of attempts, Savannah finally answered.

"She said, ‘He did it. He signed it,’ and I just started busting out crying. Everyone was looking around, and then I just hung up. I was so nervous that I just hung up. It was the craziest thing and everybody was just looking at me because, unfortunately, most of the news that you get in prison is bad news, so they're like, ‘Are you okay?’ I'm like, 'I am, I'm getting out of here…' it was just unreal," Julie recalled.
