WATCH: America250 backdrop topples near Shapiro, Revolutionary War reenactors

A hefty backdrop sign toppled toward Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a Benjamin Franklin reenactor and a woman portraying Betsy Ross on Thursday as the governor unveiled headliners for the "Commonwealth Concert Series" in anticipation of the nation's semiquincentennial.

Shapiro, Franklin and Ross announced five free, star-studded concerts would take place around the commonwealth leading up to America’s 250th birthday on July 4 – at a cost of $675,000 from Pennsylvania’s Marketing to Attract Marquis Events program.

As Shapiro joked that state Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Wilkes-Barre, would be a good singer for a concert in that city, he pivoted to announcing the finale of the series.

"Then on June 27, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the newly refurbished, refashioned, redone Point State Park," he boomed, before being interrupted by a crashing sound as the large "America250PA" backdrop fell forward, nearly clipping him, Ross and Franklin.

"You all right, Doctor Franklin?" Shapiro asked.

"I feel like Sandra Day O’Connor," Franklin replied – referencing a near-catastrophic incident in 2003 in Philadelphia as the Reagan-appointed Supreme Court justice was announcing the opening of the Constitution Center on Independence Mall.

At that event, Day O’Connor counted down to the pulling of ribbons to unveil the center, and when her count hit zero, a large horizontal beam crashed down within inches of her head.

Shapiro announced several acts, including Lady A (formerly Lady Antebellum), The Fray, Cole Swindell and Gabby Barrett, before the sign crashed down.

After ensuring all on the dais were unharmed Thursday, Shapiro finished his announcement, saying that Third Eye Blind would headline that final concert at the park – which is at the "point" confluence of the Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio Rivers.

"I don't know if you saw this the other day, we redid the fountain there. Austin Davis, the great lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania, y'all should give them a little grief for this. He turned that fountain on so high, he soaked himself and every other guest who was there that day," Shapiro quipped.

"Third Eye Blind and Nelly, that’s going to be a good one."

Country singer Chris Janson wows crowd, talks family at the 'Fox & Friends All-American Summer Concert Series'

Platinum-selling and award-winning country singer Chris Janson performed at the "Fox & Friends All-American Summer Concert Series" Friday morning in New York City.

The country star flew in last-minute from Nashville to fill in for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Janson will also be performing at the 2022 CMA Music Festival in Nashville Friday night.

Janson was joined by "Fox & Friends" co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt, Pete Hegseth and Brian Kilmeade on stage in FOX Square ahead of his performance.

When asked about his country roots, Janson reflected on growing up in Southeast Missouri.

"It's always been a part of the fabric of who I am," he said. "I mean, but when you come from a small town in middle America, what's the first thing you want to do? You want to run from there because, you know, there's rock and roll here and there's a city here. And so I went through years, you know, like everybody does of growing up. But, I mean, I always came back to my country roots because I don't know anything but being a country guy. So I live in the country at home. I love to hunt and fish. Yeah, I love conservation. I'm a bass pro man, and I got kids. We like to get out in the woods and water."

He also spoke about values and raising his family.

"Moralistic values are number one for me," said Janson. "So whenever I introduce myself to someone, I want them to remember. I don't care about having a legacy of music someday that's going to come and go always with anybody in the public eye. But I want to be remembered as a great dad, a great father, a great Christian, a great husband, a great guy for conservation, somebody who helped out and did their part."

Janson also spoke about his devotion to his wife and sharing his life with her.

"There is no other woman that I have eyes for," he said. "That's why when you see me walk into a room, I keep my head high, but I always keep my eyes low. It's just the important thing that I do. I want to impress that upon my kids. My kids will go down in history knowing that their dad had eyes for one chick."

In the coming weeks, the star-studded "Fox & Friends" concert series will feature artists such as Foreigner, Flo Rida, Maverick City Music and more.

Christian rock band 'Skillet' explains how it got its name

Multi-platinum Christian heavy metal band Skillet rocked out Fox Square in midtown Manhattan Friday as part of the "Fox & Friends All-American Summer Concert Series" -- and ahead of their "Victorious Sky Tour."

The hosts of the morning show surprised them with an RIAA Platinum plaque for their song "Feel Invincible." The members shared how they came to combine heavy metal with Christian music.

"Rock-n-roll's all about singing something you believe in," said John Cooper, frontman and founding member. "And if it goes against the grain that's even better. That's what rock-n-roll's about, so for me writing about my faith, it's three minutes to write about something I believe in, it doesn't matter what they think, this is my song, my song up in here. That's why it works."

The group of four members, who have been together for 10 years, shared how they got their unique name.

"My pastor at the time said you should start a band with these other members of different bands, it'd be like throwing everything into a skillet, all these different ingredients," Cooper shared. "Then somebody said you should call it Skillet, that would be funny, and we were like, OK."

In addition to music, Cooper penned "Eden: A Skillet Graphic Novel."

Cooper said he "always had faith in God" and that his mother was a "Jesus fanatic."
